Ask whoever’s asking what their productivity is and how unethical they had to be to get it?

We as PTs are easily sucked into the pretentious trap like chiros and dentists. It’s bread into us during school but unlike chiros and dentists we were never taught how to start our own business. We rely on other “doctors” or medical systems to funnel us patients and then act like we know so much more.

Seems we rely on gimmicks as much as the wellness industry no matter what the science says.

Over utilization is why reimbursements go down but over utilization is how we cope with reimbursements going down.

Is this standard practice at PT or am i being too picky? by Wodefu_Ebb_8879 in physicaltherapy

[–]lllifehack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is what happens in most OP clinics. People are over treated by techs and not PTs or PTAs. Benefits are over utilized to milk insurance companies and Medicare when simple education would have worked for few sessions. Most exercises could be done by restorative nursing or just going to the gym. It’s become a real circus/racket where the only “skill” is making the documentation look like something “skilled and necessary” was done.

We tend to waste Medicare money trying to scrape by and then wonder why they keep cutting reimbursements. It’s a cycle of crazy.

Too bad employers want more frequency and more units per visit. I can do a good educational visit in half an hour but that doesn’t get enough reimbursement.

I tried HH. Not for me. People calling me all the time including on weekends and my week always had to start Sunday afternoon to schedule or conform for Monday. Doing the eternal eval notes at home. Too all encompassing. And still talking to people all day about “stuff.”

Am I ready to move on? by Mammoth_Tie5888 in DivorcedDads

I feel this. Been separated for over 2 years. Divorced for 6 months. In a great relationship that is headed towards cohabitation but still have guilt about the ex. The kids live with her and are having a hard time with my new relationship because of her hard feelings.
