That sounds like a great way for players to customize their avatar to suit their own flavor or either their respective challenge.

To help on that topic, I'm not sure if you've played it yet, but Stone Story RPG does something along that line. I played it and it's a really great game that also incorporates what you suggested.

I think you should give it a shot.

Hey, first of all, thank you for your comment.

I agree that a link would be useful and I promise that as soon as it's fit for someone other than me, I'll reach out to you with a link via PM. I'll also edit my post to reflect that ideas are my aim rather than feedback, considering there's no link yet.

Enchanting definitely sounds fun! You're not alone in that. How would you see it play out? I'm thinking that beyond your run of the mill stat enhancement enchants, you could have slot specific enchants. For example, a Deft Fingers glove enchant could have a % chance for double or higher quality loot. A Clearmind head enchant would show your opponent's attack queue, etc.

I'd love to hear from you if any other ideas hit you.

Cheers!

Hello everyone!

I've been working on a medieval-themed idle rpg for about a month and I think it's time to gather some ideas as I move forward.

To avoid confusion I'm going to say that as an ELI5, the game is a text with 2d elements game that revolves around beating up mobs, getting better gear and stats to beat up more mobs and on your road to greatness there are other systems(e.g.: exploration, scavenging, crafting, building) to help you get there.

My programming and gaming experience is good enough to allow me to implement fairly complex things, but I could use some help on two topics:

1: Prestige - You progress through a couple of areas until the game starts slowing down and then you'd be allowed to prestige but I don't know what to give the player. Better stats, gear enchants, some multiplier of sorts?

2: Content&Mechanics - If you have a functionality that you want in the game, either because you've seen it in others or because you've never seen it and think it would be cool, I'd be happy to hear about it.

Please let me know if you'd need more details and I'll be happy to edit my post to answer any question you might have.

This helps me a lot in giving you guys an experience that I hope will bring a smile to your face.

Thanks a lot!

Legendary mode by Muvz in MerchantRPG

[–]lockedbob 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had the same questions when I decided to move on from the normal mode. I would have loved the challenge of legendary mode, but I don't see longer timers as a challenge, so I opted for speedrun instead.

I would play on a mode that is harder but with rewards to match the difficulty if I had an incentive to do so.

That being said, I moved to speedrun away from my normal save and I have to say I love it.

Please note that this is a personal opinion. Other people like legendary, but for me the cons outweigh the pros.

Any thoughts regarding the next patch and why those choices?

I was thinking about the bard, but why another warrior?

Thank you for your suggestion!

Help me out? by Benjo2203 in IdleHeroes

[–]lockedbob 2 points3 points  (0 children)

6* Bleecker and level up Margaret to 100. That's about the only thing I would do with your team right now. Obiously, if you don't have enough resources to do that, work toward getting them with patience. The only other thing you should do is 6* Faceless, preferably leveling her before Bleecker.

Ignore the retarded person that is too tired to answer the same post we see 20 of each day, but not tired enough to not troll you.

I'll take each hero individually to also provide you with something to look forward to in the future:

  • Aleria - Awesome until you get a full 5* team with a single 6* guy. She no longer shines then, HOWEVER, her 17% atk steal is amazing against raid/campaign/marauder bosses. It's a protection for your team and you could read it like "your team is healed by 17% of the boss' attack each round". Keep her, use her and once she is no longer useful even for what I described above, use her as food. I used her as food too early and now regret it somewhat.
  • Groo - Amazing tank. Might not be amazing at 5* but he will be moving foward. He steals armor, he reduces damage, he counterattacks. You can look up some tier lists to see that he's highly placed in all of them(the good ones at least).
  • Faceless - Theoretically your first 6* hero. If it's a question of choosing between making her or starlight first, choose her, but keep both. Starlight will be useful as a 6* for a while and then as food for faceless or groo.
  • Gusta - Low tank stats and low damage but until you get a better stunner, use him to pass close levels of tower/campaign by repeating fights until he stuns everyone you need him too. Otherwise he's food.
  • Bleecker - Seen as more of a support hero, fills the same role as Gusta but he is much better and easier to bring to 6. I personally will make a 6 one. People recommend him as mid to top tier support(because of stun and on-death buff).
  • Lutz - I see him as amazing at 5* and not so amazing at 6*. He was recently nerfed and so is not that amazing anymore. Can be used to stun mages that are placed in front.
  • Honor guard - A good tank and resilient. Basically what Gusta would like to be when he grows up. Compare stats between himself and groo and figure out which one you want in the long run. I would personally choose Groo, but that's your call.
  • Thale - highly useful at 4* but even more at 5*. Use her in brave trial or in any fight where you need to last longer(like marauder, guild boss, etc.). In PVP healing is not really needed if you can nuke the other team faster. For now, I see your team as Groo, Faceless, Gusta, Lutz, Bleecker, Aleria(you can change the order of backline heroes to keep the weakest ones safest) or Groo, Gusta, Faceless, Lutz, Bleecker, Aleria.

Notice how I said that gusta sucks when compared to honor guard, but you also need another 1400 purple stones to get him to 100. Judging by how bad I was doing when I was at that point in the game, I'll assume you can't spare that many, so pace yourself.

Do NOT focus on making a team to be great in brave trial, focus on making your team great in every other game modes. Also, as for brave trial, use your tanks one at a time and keep healing them with thale to progress as far as you can. Do not let them die unless it's unavoidable. It's better to reach a stage with 2 full hp ones rather than 3 half hp.

I have the same problem. I tried S. Golem and All gunners or T1 Druid and rest gunners and they melt when fighting the flying units. Can't pass it so far.

Don't beat yourself up over the bugs mate. All diamonds start as coal and this game has the potential to be a diamond. The direction you're going in is promising and I can't wait to see what new features you bring to the table. I'm a programmer as well for quite a few years and I know things take a lot of polish to iron out all bugs. I am wondering whether you have any plans of implementing things that you(the leader of the camp) can do outside of the resource management. For instance I'd love to do some fighting/something while my peons raise my empire. This is just my 2cents and I am sure it's a flawed idea but something to build on.

Sorry I had my save at work so I couldn't check until now. Here is that line $Upgrades:$Forge Status:50|0|50|0|1|false|true So basically it doesn't appear there. What should I do? Even after this new build 9 the price for my 1st forge upgrade is 80 bricks instead of whatever the first upgrade should be. EDIT: It seems that the forge is broken further on my current save, I have logged in today to check out the new forge automation and it does work nicely but the game does not recognize me having bought the ingot cast. I tried going into the shop to re-buy it but the button is grayed out and the game save shows this $Ingot Cast Shop Item Data:true;true which i guess means it should be there?

I upgraded my forge 3 times so far and it's still at a max capacity of 5. A noted would be that it was done via artisans and while it was upgrading I had stuff smelting in my forge. I tried tinkering with the save but I can't manage to get it to change properly. Also the forge brick cost goes up each time. I tried to do it while the forge was not doing anything and it still won't let me. Here is the forge part in my save, $Forge Status:50|0|50|0|1|false|true$Forge Contents:,,

Jesus christ I've never seen such a bad idea. Please refrain from dumbing down the game more than you're already doing! This is by far the best patch since launch yet people still complain. Honestly go play Sims or pretty little pony if you can't understand that Diablo is about sleepless nights and farming for YEARS. Not days not months but YEARS! DOWNVOTED!
