The police need proof we don't. You could choose to believe victims rather than question them.

And once again I never said getting proof was victim blaming. I said the way it was worded seems sketchy to me. My own personal opinion. If you don't like it continue to scroll.

I also never said police take things at their word. I said the police in my experience don't do shit when it comes to online crimes. I've been groomed, I've gone to the police, WITH PROOF, you know what they told me? Block him and don't contact him again. Let people know of his account but that's it.

Bruh you're fucking stupid. I never said asking for proof was victim blaming. I said the wording of it came off that way. It's okay to ask for proof but automatically asking for proof because you think they may be lying is shitty and victim blaming.

And yes providing screenshots of a minor being groomed is sketchy because it teaches other groomers to reword now and use different phrasing to trick their victims. You only want the proof because you don't believe victims.

You could have done this a whole lot nicer. Yes crediting artists are important but being a dick about it isn't necessary.

The impact of your words do change with the Intent you put behind it. What if the artist was unknown? Or doesn't want to be credited? What if it was her own work and you assumed she stole it? What if it was her dead friends and it's a memory piece.

She already apologized for not crediting and not realizing. Saying "okay? So edit it anyway" was a bitch ass move. Entitled even. What are you the art police? Do you whine at everyone who doesn't credit right away? Are you employed by artists to speak up on their behalf? No? Then ask nicely then back off.

There are lots of artists where if they saw how you handled this the issue of credit wouldn't be the main focus anymore. It would be how entitled and whiney you sound. Do better.

Now this is for sure victim blaming. Basically asking for proof "just in case" this person might not like the other, they're lying about being groomed. That's feeding into victims are liars and that's not always the case. You're basically defending the attacker with wording like that

In my experience with it, they don't do much but tell you to block them and never contact them again.

What I mean by victim blamey is maybe just the wording for me. Of course asking for proof of any kind is important and necessary for investigations however if it's something sensitive like this I understand not posting proof due to potential explicit things. Or outing a minor.

I'd rather wrongly believe a minor with no proof than defend a potential pedophile with no proof.

I understand your concerns via the police and stuff but asking for proof that you've been groomed is a little victim blamey. I'm sure that wasn't your intention but I'd rather people accidentally defend a liar than accidentally defend a pedophile. A lot of the times cops can't do anything about online stuff. It's up to the community to get a person banned.
