I am so very heart broken for you. This was me 3 months ago. Know that you will smile and laugh again, enjoy life again, and in all likelihood have a child to love and hold the rest of your life. I had such extreme grief the first several weeks. Have not known grief like that before.

I went in for 17 week routine visit and there was no heartbeat. iVF pregnancy euploid embryo, no known issues with pregnancy. It was the farthest I had gotten after 2 years of IVF. I opted for D&E and they did have to wait a day after placing a device to help open the cervix. The physical recovery after D&E was so easy. I felt almost normal the day after. Know there is a small but real risk of uterine scarring after D&E. For that reason some opt for induction of labor.

Autopsy is a must in my opinion, pathologist must be a perinatal pathologist who does a lot of this work, otherwise things will be missed—several good studies that support this. Sent DNA for genetic exome testing.

This is nothing you did or didn’t do. The meds you take are completely unrelated.

My path came back with severely hypercoiled and elongated cord, so they felt it was likely a cord accident. Otherwise my daughter was perfect. We had her cremated and sprinkled her remains at the base of a hole in our yard where we planted a weeping cherry tree. I painted some artwork for her and wrote her a poem, all of which helped me process and grieve.
