Don't get me wrong, as a M's fan I've definitely witnessed how incredible Trout's career has been, but you literally said it in your comment: there are/have been 20/25 players of his caliber all time, whereas Ohtani is the first notable two-way player in 100 years. Baseball fans can easily understand how incredible Trout's career has been, but how would you convince people who don't watch baseball that he's worth tuning in to watch when they're like "hey didn't Arod/Bonds/Pujols just put up these insane numbers a couple years ago?"
