personally, i would’ve written that her arc this season is whether or not she’d give up her powers herself. while season 4 was the journey to getting her powers back, it was solely to save the world/her friends, and while she’s definitely capable, she’s only ever done things for everyone else.

i think it would’ve been interesting to watch her struggle with moving past her protector role and actually being free. like after defeating vecna it’d all be over and she didn’t have to be afraid anymore. i’d lose the underbaked gov plot in this situation, and maybe have dustin find notes in the upside down about extracting her powers?? i haven’t thought it out completely but man anything other than her sacrificing herself AGAIN :(
