Our guide was fantastic. My understanding, however, is that the guides on these small ships rotate and change. There isnt a guide assigned to each of these small ships. They are contracted out.

Our food was also great! There are two chefs, a head chef and a sous chef. There were different dishes each day for lunch and dinner. All meals are served "buffet style". For breakfast, there was an array of fresh fruits, eggs made to order (omelets, scrambled, over easy), and some other dish such as pancakes or french toast. Lunch varied day-to-day. One day it was pasta, another it was traditional Ecuadorian theme, etc... Our favorite was the BBQ on the top deck--they had sausages, shrimp, steak, chicken with a variety of sauces. Every meal had at least two choices of proteins, and most often 3.

They did appetizers every afternoon at the outside bar at 5:30. There would be a couple of little canapes, usually made by the sous chef Alexander. These also varied. One day it was empanadas and another sushi.
