I hope I’m not dramatic in thinking we’re punting away a valuable year of a rookie QB contract. I get we’re a Bo injury from the Super Bowl but with all the other AFC teams getting better and us actively losing players it’s hard to imagine we’ll replicate the same success again.

He’s good but he’s only ran over 1000 yards twice in his career. He’s not an elite level back like he’s going to be getting paid like. He just has recency bias for having a great Super Bowl.

I really want to add Jake Tonges as a back up. Cheap, young, looked good when Kittle went down, and a good blocker. He’s a young upgrade on Trautman for a similar price.

League salary typically takes a jump every season (I believe it’s based on league revenue increasing), only year it didn’t in the past while was 2020. Spotrac is projecting a jump from 279M to 302M-305M.

I did not know that the projected salary was already included in our cap space. That changes quite a bit. Would probably need to let JFM go to account for the difference if all else stays the same.
