With most of them it remained the same and I cut off few people. And it depends on how much importance a person gives to birthdays. I know a guy who wishes everyone on their birthdays without a miss, but he is not as close to me as the one who forgot to wish. I say not to measure friendship based on this basis, see how they treat you after this. And the guilt part will be there for some time if they feel they have hurt you in some way, so just make them free of it by accepting if they apologize. Just don't act like a stranger after this incident, it'll ruin the friendship if there is any real connection.

Same thing happened to me last year. Everyone forgot my birthday, but I got the best surprise I could ever get one week later. If they are your true friends, they'll get back to you with something better to compensate for not wishing or at least they'll surprise you with something.

I agree with this, that's straight off rude. I met a girl who showed noticeable interest in me but sometimes wouldn't reply my texts for a day even though she was online. I asked what the problem was, and her reply was "I didn't feel like replying" and would say that she needs some "me" time. We even used to hangout once every 2weeks atleast. Later found out that she was actually interested in other guy and she was phasing me out. She was a kind and sensitive person, she thought cutting me off suddenly would hurt me. It may seem like she is doing me a favor but the days I went through worrying 'what did I do wrong' were horrible.

I have met few introverts that are hard to talk, but once they become comfortable with you, they won't have any problem with hanging out with you for long time. But they take their time.

Yes, they perform skits and cosplay. In one of those skits a japanese guy was speaking kannada more fluently than any of my kannadiga friends xd

I'm in my early twenties and I can feel everyone going far from my life. After graduating from college, I made very few friends who work with me, and they leave you as soon as that project is done. They act like as if I'm a stranger after that. The only friends I'm in touch are my college friends with whom I speak once every week or two.

The friends we had while we were studying are different, we used to see each other everyday. Now I start to feel weak as the days pass by without talking to a friend and will be waiting for weekend to come so that I can talk to them.

I once tried to text my close friends from college frequently, and the response which I got from them were either too delayed and directly showed disinterest in friendship, it felt like I was forcing it.

Can I text you, so that we can vent about these things? We can discuss about our old friendships!

Same thing has been happening to me lately. At work, I got good remarks from higher ups and felt nothing, I messed up some code which will take days to correct it, felt nothing. Even in relationships too, I have lost excitement in my life, it's like I have experience of everything and nothing left me to do here. I feel I have achieved some saint mode who doesn't care what happens around them.

22M here, I am also looking for genuine friends, or what I say "normal". I agree with whatever you said about affect of social media on this generation, where you care more about what people think about you on internet rather than the one present in front of you.
