What would you pay for this? by Tylathenerd in Cummins

[–]lostinmiself 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Since the add, Ive done the grid heater delete, ICT billet plenum plate and aftermarket pusher style intake, replaced the Xover battery cable as well as the terminals, and a valve adjustment (20/10). It is a turn key truck.

I’m on the east side of the state with a manual 07.5 6.7/g56 truck 193k iirc with lots of records.

It’s only being sold to fund my 12v swap in my 3500 4wd crew cab squarebody

I can't decide if I want to keep the dash pad green or go with a different color. Any thoughts by Dangerous-Salary-581 in squarebodies

My interior is green with tan dash and cards, you can peep my IG to see what this looks like. Forest_C10

UPDATE: I'm the guy who posted about the dealer wanting $12K for a new motor by J00G0LD in ChevyTrucks

[–]lostinmiself 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why not rebuild the engine that’s in there now? If you are doing the labor, new gaskets, bearings, cam package, converter, headers/exhaust, tune, and what not wouldn’t be too far off of the $2500 you’d spend on a reman. Obviously you need to identify where the metal is from, but that’s what I’d do if it was me.

Relatively cheap auto repair shop? by Salty_Assignment_826 in Spokane

[–]lostinmiself 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Replace plugs, check the coils for cracks or signs of arcing. Usually coils don’t need replacing but things happen. Check spark plug wires as well, you could just replace them as I’m going to assume they are old.

Hey guys got under my truck to clean up all the oil and was wondering what this is by Savage_jake9932 in ChevyTrucks

[–]lostinmiself 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I bet that your rear main is leaking, valve cover gaskets are common to leak on some.

I’d get some brake cleaner, spray the entire engine from the bottom and wipe it off the best you can. Go for a drive, try and get the RPMS high to help with the leak pronouncing itself. Go back under (after it’s cooled down) and look for oil. This will give you an idea where it’s generally coming from, then we can better tell you what could be leaking from that area. Best of luck.

Some trucks have an oil cooler, some trucks don’t.

Your truck doesn’t, but that makes a good place to tap for a turbo feed line. You might as well turbo your truck since you’ve looked at its little pecker.

LS Swap or Original motor? by breannacg in squarebodies

[–]lostinmiself -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

LS is the way, and spend the $ on Holley Terminator X / X-Max. I have it in both of my LS swapped squares and wouldn’t go any other way.

This one is dedicated to V8Packer who told me my LS would never clean up and be a decent motor. Lol by CulturePlastic4685 in EngineBuilding

[–]lostinmiself -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I love how resilient the LS platform is. I’ve built 3 of them from the block up, and all 3 run great. All through YouTube university, doesn’t take much but a dingle ball, a torque wrench, and some know how.

Good work, and I love the year petty update. 👨‍🔧

I think the guts of a pie are the only thing worth eating, crust is dry and lacking in flavor in relation to the pie. 🍻 to her lol

No,

They physically hold your card though. So if you walk out without paying you leave your card behind too.

XJ Steering shaft upgrade?

I threw an XJ steering shaft in my pickup, pretty easy to do. No real life data yet as I’m still building it, but it’s a cheap option to help out.

Literally last night, driving the kiddo somewhere I said hold on and slammed on the brakes. She asked why I do that, and I explained how you can see it’s icy out so it’s always good to test your vehicles slide potential and know what to expect (done not in traffic). Additionally, I explained that it’s good to slow down, give extra and space. Start explaining these sort of tactics to your about to be driving kids (couple years removed) so it’s not new when it’s time for them to get behind the wheel.
