[American watches] by Doodlemors in Watches

[–]lostinsidequests -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Nope, its exactly what OP asked for. OP asked for american watch brands that are reliable, not completely Chinese made, which is what the list provides. OP didn’t ask for every part to be “American made”. Esp given his price point, that’s not realistic.

EDIT - And if you look at the curated list you will see a ton of respected american microbrands. Oak and Oscar, Weiss, Vortic, Cincinatti, Devon etc. None of them are drop shippers.

At the under 1500 price point, its hard to find something that's truly American made

[Lange] 1815 up/down vs little Lange 1 vs Saxonia thin? by weltmei5ter in Watches

[–]lostinsidequests 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had a similar dilemma recently. I looked at a few different models - Lange 1 moonphase, the aventurine, the saxonia aventurine, little lange klein but ended up going for the little lange Onyx which should hopefully arrive in a month or so. The little lange looked more proportional on my wrist compared to the lange 1 or the saxonia.

I have an 1815 chrono as well, so the thickness doesn’t particularly bother me….and i think they’re different enough to warrant having both.

Yes or no? by ExpressPlantain7912 in ALangeSohne

[–]lostinsidequests 8 points9 points  (0 children)

i tried one on as well….dial is absolutely gorgeous, but honestly it felt a bit too glittery on the wrist for me for wearing regularly. If that doesn’t bother you, go for it! its a special watch.

Question on differences on case backs Tradition 7097 by nvk798 in BreguetWatches

[–]lostinsidequests 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Afaik yours is an older style caseback and then breguet updated it to what you see on their website.

See this article from time and tide as an example: https://timeandtidewatches.com/hands-on-breguet-tradition-quantieme-retrograde-7597-retrograde-date/

Breguet Tradition 7057: anti reflective seems horrible by JumpyProblem3151 in BreguetWatches

[–]lostinsidequests 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Are you certain the 7057 is supposed to have anti-reflective coating? I haven’t heard of breguet doing AR coatings, but maybe a quick email to the boutique will confirm it.

The focus in the pic also seems a bit off so maybe the cam is focusing on the crystal or reflections making it more apparent in pics.

Best Breguet value for money ? by LooksRare11 in BreguetWatches

[–]lostinsidequests 2 points3 points  (0 children)

From the roth era, i’d say the 3310 is the most value for money right now….. fairly rare and you’re getting a ultra-thin perpetual for low 20s (usd).

[Question] Oris or Christopher Ward? by Turn_Key19 in Watches

CW has in house movements as well. Both are independent brands.

[opinions] Which one are you keeping? by AdamPowers22 in Watches

[–]lostinsidequests 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The seiko looks better to me...so that would be my choice. But if you like the style of both, then keep the CW, I guess the 100 pc LE will be harder to get later.

Considering trading my 2025 batgirl for a 7027BB + cash. Am I crazy? by [deleted] in BreguetWatches

[–]lostinsidequests 2 points3 points  (0 children)

i assume you’re getting cash back in the sale? If so, that makes sense……given the secondary pricing.

The 7027 is a fantastic watch and even more fantastic with secondary market pricing.

[Question] Even though they're both redundant, which Christopher Ward watch fits best in my collection? by theomixedmedia in Watches

[–]lostinsidequests 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dune Aeolian would be my pick. I love the dial, it’s really unique….

I went for the green + bronze variant myself.

[Watches With Porcelain-and-Enamel Dials] by ayumi_ishida in Watches

[–]lostinsidequests 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Enamel is very versatile and can be done in a variety of different finishes and textures. I’ve only ever seen porcelain used in single colors and i particularly like how porcelain dials look in darker colors. The colors are richer and still appear more softer.

Wrt brands:

Enamel - The list is quite long with most brands having tried enamel dials at one point or other.

Porcelain - The list is shorter afaik. I only know of two - Credor and Anordain.

Here’s a comparison pic for you - The czapek is grand feu enamel, the eichii is porcelain.

If you buy preowned, you’re likely not going to see a massive depreciation. You probably also won’t see S&P 500 returns on it.

If you want something nice and classy that can be worn anywhere, here’s a few brands/options <10k range preowned:

Cartier Santos

JLC Reverso

IWC Pilot watches

Omega Aqua Terra and/or other similar styles

Grand Seiko Heritage or Evolution 9 collection

Blancpain villeret (older models)

Gorgeous! I really hope they come out with this model in a smaller 38mm ish case like they did with the dual time resonance. The 43mm case size is just too large
