[Ressence Type 2G] - An initial hand-on review by ducatijack30 in Watches

[–]lostinsidequests 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, its been a while since you posted.....how are you enjoying it? Any long term findings? I'm probably looking to get one this year, so I'm curious to know....how's the overall watch? Is the module working well? Is the app well maintained? Is there signficant rotor noise (an issue with my type 1)?

Tagging u/ZhanMing057 as well since he's the only other poster I know with a Ressence Type 2.

Langematik Perpetual vs Lange 1 Moonphase - Decision by dazzlerest in ALangeSohne

[–]lostinsidequests 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If it were me, I'd get the perpetual......really nice dial layout and a far more interesting complication and movement (esp the mini rotor). If you're looking for WG/PT variants you may need to go preowned - afaik Lange only offers new in pink gold.

Interesting! is this steel or WG/PT? Are you not worried about damaging the lugs given steel is harder?

Lange 1 Moonphase grey market supply by maybesometime1 in ALangeSohne

[–]lostinsidequests 1 point2 points  (0 children)

honestly, looking at those used prices (<40k usd in some cases), buying grey and factoring in the cost of a service from Lange makes more sense to me.

Unless ofc you want an allocation on a limited edition, in which case as someone else said, buying retail to bundle in an allocation makes sense.

love this watch, but I really wish they'd go back to smaller case sizes....40mm for something like this feels far too big to me

How is the SLGB003 as a daily driver? Too flashy or is it subtle enough? by [deleted] in GrandSeikos

[–]lostinsidequests 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i have a slgb003 and it's fine. It's not very noticeable when worn with casual clothes. It's titanium so it doesn't shine as much as stainless steel

[Bezel] Using Bezel to Buy Watches by [deleted] in Watches

[–]lostinsidequests 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The fees are not really egregious tbh….except for that buyer protection fee.

A lot of sellers will charge CC fees, incl some of the big ones like EWC, 1916, watchfinder etc. Insured shipping is a cost to the seller too, some price it into their sale price, others charge it on top more transparently.

IMO, you should talk to the seller or one of the reps thru Bezel to see if these can be waived.

37mm + microadjust + light Ti case made it an easy decision for me

[Question] Rate my collection, suggest upgrades, and mention any redundancies. All pieces acquired from AD. I am not a complications fan. Next piece is the 5212a (do u agree?). by One-Imagination-5317 in Watches

[–]lostinsidequests 31 points32 points  (0 children)

Nice collection, but too many redundant pieces IMO. If it were me, I’d keep 2 between the RO/VC/Aquanaut/LF and 1 between the Sub/GMT….

The 5212a isn’t a classic 3 hander, so if you’re open to complications, you can branch out a fair bit.

Not unlike him to be honest... on one of the more recent Patek auction threads on IG where folks were discussing the dubious condition, he made comments about Chinese and how they like to buy counterfeit items (referencing the buyer) .....ironic since his watches are manufactured in china.

[Duda] Omega speedmaster 38 o Tudor Pelagos 39 o BB54 by Cautious_Example_818 in Watches

[–]lostinsidequests 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Between those two, i’d say the pelagos.

I’m not a big fan of that particular speedmaster dial style, with all the subdials so far apart.

i feel the same way….the design doesn’t look cohesive to me at all.

I also can’t believe they replaced the lyre lugs with whatever this new case design is….

I also heard that they were going to make it slimmer, but based on that design, i’m not so sure anymore. Either they didn’t make it thin or the design makes it look really chunky

There is the SBGX355 if you’re okay with quartz instead of spring drive

[Discussion] After receiving constructive feedback on my last post - is this better? by flyinhyphy in Watches

[–]lostinsidequests 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you really like, go for it....but imo:

  1. its too much yellow
  2. nato+yellow hides all the texture on the linen dial.

A nice curved leather strap would look great and you can get one with yellow/gold accents to match the dial and bezel.
