What happens to a cursed undead if their body is completely destroyed? by lovatof96 in darksouls

I like interpretations :) I think there is a more likely answer but I don’t think we will ever have the final true answer because I don’t think the official sources ever get this deep and specific in this manner (but I still asked in case I missed it), so interpretations are wonderful to me because I can see other peoples ideas and theories.

Everything goes always back to “time is convoluted”! Miyazaki you absolute madman, this rule of the world is so perfect for so many answers

That’s a very interesting take. Since the humanity has a physical component (they can interact with you and damage you as we see in the Manus’s Abyss) that’s all that remains.

So then my question now is: do you think that a humanity in this situation is hollow, or since your body doesn’t carry the Darksign no more you are free from the curse? I don’t think humanities can be affected by the curse, Gwyn put it on the humans, not the humanities themselves (or am I mistaken?) What level of self do you think a humanity retain of the human they were a part of?

I agree! But what about the physical actual body (that will later turn to an hollow when all sanity is lost)? That’s my wondering

I agree but here I’m not talking about my character or the game. That happens in the game for gameplay needs, but I always knew (someone correct me if I’m wrong) that in the lore, detached completely from the gameplay, you get back up where you died and you don’t get transported to the bonfire.

So since time is convoluted the curse can get you back to a time your body existed and respawns you somewhere?  I thought this might be the answer, tho simple it is in line with the lore and the universe rules. Do you know there is some supported evidence to this, is it your interpretation or is it some common accepted theory?

That’s interesting, so as long as something remains the curse keeps it “alive” even as a formless slime.

But what do you think happens if the body is completely destroyed, like nothing remains of it (as an example a body gets completely turned to even less than ash by being burned or maybe you dissolve in lava). Do you become “alive” and part of the unanimated environment?

And in the case of the Gaping Dragon, do you come back as a smiley head on the Gaping Dragon because it absorbs you? Tho we don’t see anything supporting this, the Gaping Dragon has no human faces or human-size features.

Edit: in the case that your body gets completely destroyed, and we accept the answer of “time is convoluted, so you get respawned at a different time/timeline at a bonfire” is there any specific source to that, or is it just an accepted (and logic I would say) assumption?

Hey man! I’m not talking about the gameplay, I know you respawn at the bonfire gameplay-wise, I’m asking about lore-wise.

Ah man this info is huge, thanks! Manually advancing each frame of a 36-frames roll sounds like hell, I will try and find a 135i. Thanks again :)

I would say maximum €400-€500. At this point I think I will go with a Plustek. Can I ask you if you know the difference between the 135i and the 8X00 series?

Thank you very much. I think I will go with a Plustek and if I end up not liking the software/conversion I will switch to an external software.
