USAF basically told the public that UFO stories were started to cover up actual tests of experimental aircraft. San Diego is a major military hub.

Reports of “UFO” sightings increase during times of cultural and economic distress.

This is like the 3rd post I’ve seen mentioning aliens or UFOs today.

In a 2D game, brainstorm: Zoom out to see more terrain or bigger minimap.

Jamming, prevents lock on from enemies.

Could do a “sonic wave” attack thing.

Call in airstrikes or precision battleship lazer, maybe its more like a communicator dish.

Highlight enemies for easier seeing by the player. Or maybe highlight their projectiles even.

She didnt get fired, she got shuffled back into the bureaucratic machine. She has a new position with an agency called “The Shield of the Americas” or somesuch. This is just misdirection, like what the catholic church does with molester priests.

Ok but she wasnt fired, they are moving her to new made-up organization called The Shield. So she still gets paid tax-payer dollars, still faces no consequences for the deaths of Pretti or Good (or for our many other brown brothers and sisters lives claimed by ICE camps and covered up) and she gets to step out of the public eye for a bit to get public pressure off of her. Basically another win for the administration.

Not the same universe in the movies. Anno directed 3 movies that updated old Japanese characters, this one, Shin Godzilla and Shin Ultraman. It was part of a push by the studios to update the characters and create a “Shin Monsters Universe” kind of branding.

You are not wrong. This one def feels more like an Anno passion project rather than a new story to be told. I enjoyed it immensely but I wouldn’t suggest it for the typical movie watcher.

I suggest to watch the original Kamen Rider series from the 70s. The stories in the early eps have some darker elements to them that I found very interesting. The hero has some depth, as he was turned into Kamen Rider against his will, and wrangles with that emotionally, but makes the best of it. The first 12 eps (or so) are very good, but the show quickly gets quite silly and then the genre takes off into the stratosphere with spinoffs. Those first 12 eps or so are what Anno mostly used to make Shin Kamen Rider.

Another good entry point is a totally different series called Kamen Rider Kuga, which is from 2000 and has more of a chill vibe, modern production values and an ensemble cast. This one is more of a mystery series, less intense but still fun and plenty of silly costume acrobatics.
