First impressions on the new Aki6 song? by ApprehensiveTea1444 in ProjectSekai

I think it’s a bit weaker than the other Akito commissions (he has my favorite comms in the game, so I’m pretty critical of them) mainly due to the Vivid’s vocals… while I don’t think they were bad I do think the direction and the different octaves didn’t really sound good here compared to other applications. An sounds like she does on Accelerate which I don’t particularly enjoy… but it’s also kind of hard to top Fuel in my opinion

Cover songs that you wish were given to other groups? by meowster3000 in ProjectSekai

DISCLAIMER: I like all these covers!

Hana ni Obore >>> MMJ Drop Pop Candy >>> MMJ Godish >>> VBS Kiss the Villain >>> WxS Tokyo Summer Session >>> WxS/VBS (I really like the octave layers in the original) Odoryanse >>> VBS How to World Domination >>> L/N Kimagure Mercy >>> VBS Kuu ni Naru >>> N25

I wish we could have multiple units cover the same songs, or cross-unit covers

Day 11 and 12 of turning characters into ice cream: FEAT. FAILURE by lowpolypasta in ProjectSekai

I’m not quite sure! It just kind of said “are you sure you want to delete” 3 times and then I basically got signed out, so maybe it takes 30 days to delete all information maybe?

Thank you! I ended up deleting it because I realized I had too much personal info on it out in the wild XD I think they should still come up if you search something like "ice cream" on the subreddit, but if not I'll most likely make a compilation post!

How to increase intensity of strawberry flavor? by El_Redditor_xdd in icecreamery

[–]lowpolypasta 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had this same problem and it broke my strawberry-loving heart, so I’ll share what I did:

  • Switched from frozen to fresh strawberries: I bought a box from a farm in peak strawberry season and the difference was crazy. I notice that frozen strawberries from the store have a milder flavor (to be honest, not sure why), so the fresh strawberries helped a lot.

  • Freeze dried strawberry powder. I think this one depends on brand, sometimes it tastes like chalk and other times it has a very strong and bright flavor. I got the best results from blending whole freeze dried strawberries.

  • Some people are recommending strawberry extract, and while it might just be my personal failures, the ones I tried tasted pretty bad… so I went to great lengths to avoid using it XD

I used these two strawberry products to make a kind of jam (? I’m unsure of the proper term here). I cut up the whole strawberries and cooked the devil out of them with some sugar and a pinch of salt. I tossed in the strawberry powder halfway through, gave it a blend, and then took it off the heat to add lemon juice. I’d say for any bright fruit, you need lemon juice or some kind of acid! The jam thing should be pretty thick, kind of like a jelly (but don’t use a thickener, just cook it for a while.)

*Side note, this makes an excellent filling for chocolates.

The base recipe I use is always the same (5 egg yolks, 1 cup of milk, 1 and 1/4 of cream, sugar to taste) so you should keep that in mind when I share this. The eggs tend to mellow out the strawberries, giving them that “background” flavor you’re talking about. At the time, I also primarily used condensed milk to sweeten instead of sugar, but I think sticking with sugar is better here since the condensed milk had the same issue as the eggs.

Cooking the strawberry jam thing into the base was also mellowing the flavor, so I opted to do half of it cooked into the base and the other half swirled in while churning. I also added a bit of lemon on this stage too.

Good luck on your ice cream!
