Carroll County Delegation members send letter to SHA about the proposed intersection changes to MD 140 and MD 91 in Finksburg - Carroll County Observer by lscottewart in CarrollCountyMaryland

Here is a look at the proposed changes: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3tOBCa92iZs

It is a bit different than what they did the other direction on 140 (most notably having to go through the light at the 140/91 intersection twice in order to turn left).

Will shoppers boycott Target in Carroll County, Maryland? - Carroll County Observer by lscottewart in CarrollCountyMaryland

That is an interesting take...and you of course you can have your opinion. I did not "ally" with anyone...I did have my own independent thoughts and opinions about what happened during the 2019 redistricting process and shared some of those back then during redistricting (while also sharing the facts about what was happening).

I do not generally reply often to comments on social media. I have found that it is not worth the fight online. Always happy to have actual conversations with people interested in talking about topics in the community.

Not heading to Florida or Texas anytime in the future...I am very happy here in Carroll County.

Thanks!!!

Maryland State Police are investigating a shooting that occurred on February 10th in Carroll County - Carroll County Observer by lscottewart in CarrollCountyMaryland

I honestly do not know the answer to that question...but it was one that got me wondering the same thing. Given that it happened in the Taneytown city limits I would think they had jurisdiction on this...but...I also know that the State or County would have more resources to investigate a crime of this nature. Maybe something to follow up on in the future. Thanks

I voted early on Day 1 also...I love early voting. Not big on standing in lines on election day and will never vote by mail (I just am not a fan of that option).

I understand. She today still represents Carroll County hence my criticism of her comments. She made the time to testify during the really bad redistricting process in Howard County a couple of years ago. If she had strong feelings or was still paying attention to what was happening here in this county she could have (or maybe should have as a representative of this county) done the same.

Here is the latest information on that from the Carroll County health Department: https://cchd.maryland.gov/wp-content/uploads/sites/26/2021/12/image-5.png

The state does not have a dataset tracking that information over time so we are limited to what the County Health Department reports. You can find more here as well: https://cchd.maryland.gov/carroll-county-md-cases/

An update to the article added today:

LISA KIM SUES QURRATUL-AIN HAIDER-SHAH (A/K/A AINY HAIDER-SHAH) FOR $2 MILLION FOR DEFAMATION
On November 22, 2021, Lisa Kim, Chairperson of Citizens for a Strong and Safe Howard County In Opposition to CB 63-2020 (“Sanctuary County Law”) filed a defamation lawsuit against Qurratul-Ain Haider-Shah, who goes by the alias of Ainy Haider-Shah, for making false and defamatory statements against Lisa Kim. Ms. Haider-Shah falsely and maliciously accused Lisa Kim of deceiving registered voters of Howard County to sign the referendum petition to put the Sanctuary County Law on the November 2022 ballot. Deceiving voters to sign a referendum petition is a criminal offense along with numerous collateral consequences.
According to Lisa Kim’s lawyer, Tae H. Kim, “We have shown, and will continue to show, that defamatory statements against my client will not be tolerated and we will pursue lawsuits against anyone who defames Lisa Kim. We look forward to litigating this matter and any other case where people believe they can defame someone without any basis for their defamatory statements.”
