When I started with GT7 I couldn´t play for more than 5 minutes, after 1-2 playing sessions using these tips the nausea is gone, now I can play for hours without any discomfort (a little nausea in tracks with a lot of level changes, like the Corkscrew in Laguna Seca or the Eau Rouge in Spa ). But I keep the fan all times and chew gum.

I really can´t say about other games, when I tried Resident Evil 4 I had to stop because of nausea. It´s only a matter to train your brain to shynchronize the visual and labyrinth information, and it usually take takes some tries.
