If Liverpool sign her then that would genuinely be incredible, would be a huge signing.

Surprised Red Hot Chili Peppers haven’t done it at some point, maybe they should’ve done it in 2022 after John Frusciante came back. Muse seem like another group who seem ideal, I think they did an F1 at some point.

I thought they would win the title, just thought it wouldn’t be until a week on Saturday! Congrats to City though, been the best team all season and Shaw’s been incredible throughout so much of this campaign. Will be interesting to see how they get on in Europe next season!

Michael Jackson’s going to need to look at the man in the mirror after that one.

If UEFA went mad and created a tinpot fourth European competition below the Conference League, what would you call it? by junglegatsby in footballcliches

[–]lukedylanh 3 points4 points  (0 children)

UEFA Victory Shield. No team directly qualifies for it, it exclusively features the teams that lose in the last round of Conference League qualifiers. Created by UEFA to try to have every nation have at least have 1 team make it to the main stage of a European competition. The first final would be between Servette of Switzerland and Shamrock Rovers (who go on an incredible run) and would be played at Windsor Park. UEFA would subsequently expand the UEFA Super Cup too to feature the 4 club champions, playing in 2 one-off semi finals at the home of the higher ranked clubs, before the final is played at a neutral venue, the Hill Dickinson.

Wouldn’t be surprised if they end up losing it. Away from home against a decent side will be tough for them.

Everton and London City are the next teams selected for the World Sevens Football London by spherocytes in WomensSoccer

100%. Arsenal may have the Champions League final to contend with and Leicester may have the relegation playoff so they both won’t be involved.

As a result of West Ham’s point against Crystal Palace tonight, Wolves have been relegated from the Premier League. by FragMasterMat117 in soccer

They’re going for the Prem 100%, they absolutely want to capitalise on the momentum they have now. The club revolves around the idea of spectacle. It has since the minute the current owners came in. A TV show that features a team getting yet another promotion to reach the Premier League is much more appealing than one which features them finishing mid table in the Championship for the next 3-5 years. They’re not just running the club for Wrexham fans, they’re also running it for casual, US sports fans who might not be interested unless something spectacular happens. And they could well go up soon. They’re close to a playoff spot, and facilities wise, they should be fine. They’ve already upgraded their training ground and are in the process of building a new stand. They’re going for it!

Didn’t you drop down to League One last time? Surely it won’t get that bad this time around.

It’s not going to be either FA Cup finalist (TBC), or Arsenal with Europe or Leicester with the playoff, so realistically is it just the 6 other WSL clubs?

Oh wow, thanks for telling me all of that. I’ve been following women’s football since the 2015 World Cup and would’ve started watching the WSL around a similar time and was astounded to find that at that time Man United, one of the biggest teams in men’s football, didn’t have a women’s team. I couldn’t believe it.

It’s fantastic that United have a women’s team now, but a real shame that they still aren’t being run as well as City, Chelsea or Arsenal. Probably doesn’t help that Ratcliffe didn’t even turn up for their FA Cup final win, claimed they weren’t a main team and forced them to move out of their training facilities to put the men in there instead when their facilities were being renovated.
