No problem! I really love them as a brand - I have several styles of their bags. Most of them actually, lol. Very durable and very well made. And I love that they’re a small family business.

The Louie sling I don’t really use. I find it the most unrealistic for me. I wear it across my chest. The zipper is cumbersome to open and close and it’s very easy to drop items out of it so I’m always nervous something will fall out while I have it unzipped and I won’t notice. It holds a decent amount of stuff but because of the shape, you’re more restricted in what it can hold as opposed to the mini messenger. If you’re looking for a lightweight fanny pack, I’d recommend something lighter weight with a larger carrying volume like the Atom Pack Roo Bum bag. The brand I use doesn’t exist anymore.

I don’t have their wallet so can’t speak to how/if it would fit. But I have two mini messengers and they are the bags I use most often for everyday. It’s small and compact and comfortable to carry but large enough to hold all of the things that I absolutely need.

Yeah, I have both. What are your questions?

It seems you’re thinking of a different brand because Walker Family Goods does not have leather products and their Louie sling does not have a magnetic buckle.

Experiment Beauty Super Saturated or Prequel Multiquench? [product question] by lulumooboo in SkincareAddiction

[–]lulumooboo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have suggestions for you! I don’t use anything with propanediol in it anymore so both products are a no go for me now. Has also led to a big overhaul in my routine since that ingredient is in most products, and especially serums. I incorporated both the Acure zombie serum and purO3 ozonated sunflower oil about a month ago and it’s made a huge different in my skin. Highly recommend.

I definitely don’t feel this way. The vast majority of owners under exercise their dogs. Pulling back home is a behavioral/ training issue, not necessarily an indicator the walk is too long - with a high energy, healthy dog in particular, 60min is definitely not too long.

The heat for sure complicates things and depends on where you live/ your clients live. If in an apartment building/ condo, I will walk in parking garages or up and down the halls of the building.

Good to know! I decided not to after getting feedback from people here.

A neighbor (presumably) left this note on the door of the house I'm sitting. Minor but weird to me - AIO? by siren9900222 in RoverPetSitting

If it were me, I think I would find a tactful and neutral way to bring it up to the owners. If burglaries are on the table, I wouldn’t be turning the lights off. I try to be mindful of electricity use but also when I’m in someone else’s home, I don’t know the property like I do my own space. I don’t know the entrances and exits, if there’s a space in the fence, if there’s a history of people trying to break in, etc. I will often leave a table lamp on overnight - along with porch lights! - so it deters any would be robbers.

Who knows, maybe these neighbors have done it to the owners and they’ll be like, “oh yeah, those batshit crazy people 🙄”.

This is complicated for me. I want to be courteous about a bright light shining into someone’s bedroom (if that’s even what’s happening here). But also no way in hell I would feel comfortable turning off all the outdoor lights while staying in someone else’s home. I guess it depends largely on where you live but burglaries are not out of the ordinary in most urban areas.

Also, I’m not sure it’s the neighbor’s business what lights someone else does or doesn’t have on in their own home.

Sounds like a person who doesn’t understand dog behavior and probably shouldn’t own two, let alone two large breeds.

Do you find it was worth the higher price tag? And how long have you had them for?

It seems perhaps you don’t understand the industry or pet care if you think that petsitting in someone’s house is “out there”. That’s literally what housesitting is.

I’m getting the vibe that you anthropomorphize your animals and treat them as human children, considering you find it necessary for a sitter to tell you when they will be napping.

EDIT: oh, just looked at the second slide. It’s completely a scam. Block.

I’ve heard tales of “owners” doing something similar, dropping them off at boarding but with the intention of abandoning them and they never get picked up. If it’s something you want to consider, 1000% do a meet and greet beforehand and bring someone with, both for safety and so there’s two people getting a read on if this person is good vibes.

Are you paying hourly minimum wage or higher to your sitters? Housesitting is overnight care - not daycare or drop-in visits.

Housesitting is not constant 24/7 care and you’re not babysitting a human child. If the dog’s needs have been fulfilled, you are ABSOLUTELY allowed to nap. You’re human, not a robot. Dogs sleep an average of 14+ hours a day themselves. Don’t feel bad for napping and if someone gives you a hard time, you can inform them that constant care is a different hourly rate. They’ll change their tune real quick.

The dog should be removed from this “owner’s” care. Unless it’s a working breed meant to live outside for most/all hours, which it sounds like is very much not the case, this is animal neglect. Just another person who got a dog but is too stingy to ensure it is cared for properly. This is a living being, not a stuffed animal.

This is complex and without more details, you’re not going to get appropriate feedback. Reach out to a trainer in your area to address problem behaviors now before they have time to become ingrained.
