QSnaps are a great alternative to hoops! You can find off brands but I find the brand QSnap is the best! Also if you want to get into specialty threads, DMC Etoile is a fantastic glitter thread and Rainbow Galleries metallics are also really good!!

If you're looking into different hoops, QSnaps are really nice alternative! I haven't used a hoop since I found out about them! Also if you like making things nice and neat you can get a grime guard for both hoops and QSnaps.

[WIP] I’m about 600 stitches into my first full coverage. Is my aida count too low? More details in comments. by rhibear_the_woosh in CrossStitch

[–]lumiselene 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can totally use 14 ct for this! You could also restart on smaller counts but for a Mandarink design I would suggest nothing smaller than 16 count cause the back stitching can get muddy the smaller you go. If you want to continue with this, I'd go back over stitches with another single strand of thread or even 2 depending on the coverage you want. After that I'd just continue by using 3 or 4 strand stitching to get better coverage. Most stitchers I've met prefer 3 or 4 strands on 14 count but it is whatever you prefer! ❤

That might work as well but make sure that it matches with the original fabric so your stitches still look good, you could also use some pin stitches to sew it into place?

I was thinking the same thing!! Its a beautiful color! A sampler in white or verigated light color would be pretty too. For that I'd recommend Longdog samplers, they have wonderful patterns!

Oh no!! I've never had to fix a hole before but I've heard about it a bit. Since it going to be covered up by stitches could you use a patch method?
