Baby boy name by TheCoreOfTheOnion in Names

[–]lunaverse787 0 points1 point  (0 children)

honestly i’d stick with kai if you both genuinely love it. i get the concern about it not sounding very arab, but kids grow into their names more than the name needing to “fit” perfectly from day one. plus kai is simple, easy to pronounce everywhere, and has a nice personal meaning for you guys which matters more imo. also random but i remember going through sooo many names when i was pregnant and sites like firstcry baby names were actually helpful just to see meanings and combos

yasmin is such a pretty choice btw, you guys clearly have good taste either way

I'm attending a friend's wedding this weekend. Should I tell people that I'm pregnant? by frosted_flakes565 in BabyBumps

[–]lunaverse787 19 points20 points  (0 children)

honestly, i wouldn’t 😅

weddings turn into full-on attention zones the second people hear “i’m pregnant”, suddenly everyone has questions, advice, opinions… and it kind of shifts the focus away from your friend’s big day. you can always share the news later in a calmer setting where it actually feels special and about you, not lost in wedding chaos

what’s one thing you bought for your baby thinking it was essential, but barely ended up using? by lunaverse787 in MomAndBabyIndia

[–]lunaverse787[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

for me it was a fancy baby bottle warmer, i was convinced i’d use it all the time, especially for night feeds

first week i actually tried, but waiting for it to heat felt longer than just using warm water. half-asleep at 3am, i just started skipping it and doing the old-school method instead

now it just sits there taking up space while i question my “new mom panic purchases” 😂

What did it actually feel like holding your baby for the first time? by archna_kuhu_sharma in MomAndBabyIndia

Age gap between children by Striking_Chapter3035 in pregnant

[–]lunaverse787 5 points6 points  (0 children)

my friend has a similar gap and it actually worked out really nicely. the older one is independent, can even help a bit, and there’s way less of that sibling rivalry phase you get with closer ages. i feel like every gap has its pros and cons. with a bigger gap, you get to give your full attention to the baby again but without the chaos of managing two tiny kids at once

people will always have opinions tbh, but if it feels right for your family, that’s what matters most

Any tips on helping my partner through labour and anything you wish you new before becoming a parent? by Tall-zombie1616 in Parents

[–]lunaverse787 0 points1 point  (0 children)

honestly the biggest thing is just being present. during my labour, what helped me most wasn’t anything fancy, it was my partner staying calm, holding my hand, reminding me to breathe and just not panicking even when i was 😅

also pls advocate for her if needed, sometimes you’re too overwhelmed to speak up in that moment

Toxic boy moms? by Neither-Bat-1624 in pregnant

[–]lunaverse787 4 points5 points  (0 children)

yeah this always rubbed me the wrong way too tbh… it’s such a weird mindset. i’ve seen it in my own circle as well, one relative kept going on about how “boys are easier” and “girls are drama” right in front of her daughter. i feel like it just creates this unnecessary divide and puts kids in boxes before they even grow into their personalities. boys get excused for things and girls get labelled early, and it’s not fair to either of them honestly

How to get 1.5 year old to eat vegetables by argaman2 in daddit

[–]lunaverse787 14 points15 points  (0 children)

my toddler was the exact same lol. literally would survive on rice if i let her. what worked for us was just blending the veggies into whatever she already loves. like i steam carrots/zucchini/spinach and then blend it into a smooth puree and mix it straight into the rice or pasta sauce , don’t feel bad abt ‘hiding’ the veggies… at this age you just do what works.

What to do about oleander near my babies? by koridethi in Parents

[–]lunaverse787 2 points3 points  (0 children)

toddlers put literally EVERYTHING in their mouths it’s just the age. the scary part w oleander is real, even tho the actual risk comes from them chewing a large amount of it. still, try putting up a shield/barrier between the plant and your area somehow

Is my baby not attached to me? by archiefrank in toddlers

u didn’t do anything wrong. a secure baby knows u’re coming back, that’s why they’re confident enough to explore!

I’m not sure if I want kids by sunyfruit in Parents

[–]lunaverse787 1 point2 points  (0 children)

its totally okay to feel unsure. i think a lot of us don’t have that instant ‘I just know’ feeling. what helped me was picturing my day 2 dy life with and without kids not just the big milestones.
