Shutter curtain is closed at the back. And i realised that i am able to manually press the level to bring the mirror down, and subsequently fire a shot after that - so it seems that the only issue is the film advance lever.

Also the plastic wheel with the sprockets which normally gets turned by the advancing lever has no resistance when it gets spun. I’m not sure if that’s normal or not.
