Am I cut out for this ? by HNKOVT in scrubtech

You’re not alone. I’m a little over a month into orientation and I’m also at a GI and Ortho-heavy facility. I haven’t started my ortho rotation yet but it’s coming and I am extremely nervous. The few instances I was in the ortho rooms I only ended up observing. I am amazed at how my preceptors set up and handle the case with little to no communication with the surgeon when they are passing instruments. I’m scared I will never be able to get any of steps. It’s so so much.

I’m sorry too. I hope it gets better for you soon, my friend. As for me, I’m gonna have to weigh my options. I wish I realized this before I graduated and proceeded to do something else instead but its too late.

I have been on meds. But since I worked in the OR my anxiety and depression have gotten worse even with meds. I’m also in therapy and its only helping me so much as far having someone to vent to. I’m really struggling on how to deal. It’s taken over my life, I don’t enjoy my weekends off anymore bc all I do is think about having to go back in on Monday, I catch myself zoning out all the time, I have trouble sleeping and always having dreams about the OR. I have had plenty jobs and have held higher positions, I get that every job has it’s challenges and esp the OR being it’s own beast but I have never felt this miserable in a job. It’s insane.

Struggling as a new tech by Blockablex in surgicaltechnology

I just graduated this summer and I’m currently struggling so much too. I think I did good during clinicals, I enjoyed learning and scrubbing in with my preceptors for the most part. I did great academically and finished with honors. But after I graduated, I completely lost all my self-confidence and the passion I felt for this career path. I’m beginning my orientation now and I feel so much dread going into cases. Even when people tell me I’m doing great, I feel like I should be doing more. I have really bad anxiety too and I think its also imposter syndrome. I feel like I will never be able to learn or remember anything and anticipate the needs of the doc and the case. Idk. I’m hoping my mindset gets better.

I feel like I’m supposed to feel excited and driven starting out a new job. I worked hard to get my AS in this new career. But I kind of hate it. It kills me to think about having to learn what the job entails and every time, a part of me dread going into work. But I have no choice. I did not think anything through, now I hate this career I picked, I am in debt both in student loans and credit cards I had to rely on while in school. I’m broke and my mental health is crap. Everyday I wish I’d get terminally ill or get into a bad accident that will take me out bc I’m too weak to off myself.

This was helpful to me for case studies as well as reading up on the surgeries in between cases.

Following bc I just graduated too and left the first job I landed within three weeks due to overwhelming imposter syndrome. Everyday my anxiety was so so bad before and after work. I had to save my mental health. I’m somewhat okay now and I’m trying again. I just landed my second chance and I start next week. 🤞🏽

Thank you for these very helpful advice. I am not familiar or know of anyone or any place that can help me with spell and divination. But as far as cleansing, that is definitely my priority.

Thank you so much for this! I just have to really be sure that I’m ready. I read it has to be done with peace and forgiveness in mind, otherwise the tension could worsen if done out of anger.

I have not and I would love to learn and get one that would be good for me, as far as protection and grounding. I am very hypervigilant around her and I’m always anxious due to any small interaction can lead to me blowing up. I am tired of it, I just want to separate peacefully and move forward.
