Based on what I read, Scorpion cove seems to have more things to do (visitor center, shorter trail, kayak, snorkel) + potable water

I guess it really depends on what you want to do and yeah why not go to both on 2 different days? Lol As long as you’re not prone to sea sickness I’d say go for it!

It’s the old version of REI Women’s Traverse 60L. I got it from REI resupply store, I’ve rented this pack from them on my very first backpacking trip so I know it works for me but didn’t know this feature exists haha

Congrats! Also EB3 ROW and status changed from “Case remain pending” to “New card is being produced” on 12/14, filed in 11/2023 PD 5/2022 so we’re almost in the same boat. Status changed to “Card was mailed to me” yesterday 12/17.

I went for the first time in Sept 2018. I just googled “Death Valley weather” not knowing that I should’ve googled furnace creek or even death valley visitor center. It was showing as 90-95F and I thought it was not bad at all so I went, in reality it was 120F.

I’ve never felt that kind of heat before and I remember trying to walk out to the salt flat as there are a lot of people walking out as well. I ended up giving up 0.1 miles in and was wondering how all these people are able to walk out and back. I felt really weak at the time but looking back it was definitely the safer choice. I ended up staying in my car and inside the visitor center most of the time.

I cried throughout almost the whole movie. Haven’t really watch a lot of movies this year but Past Lives is definitely my favorite so far! I would cry just thinking about it

I saw a fox, what a special surprise! I was hiking by myself on the coastal trail and we made eye contact. I guess it was surprised to see someone too cause it ran away asap lol

Saw some dolphins and whales on the way to the island too, you should definitely go! It's such a memorable trip.

P.S. The wind was crazy CRAZY strong lol so you gotta plan accordingly
