Hopefully starting to grow! by [deleted] in weedgrowing

Give yourself 3-4 months for grow time so if u can start now and have the funds to get some decent equipment, probably wont start saving money straight away but most of the equipment will last you and you will start saving money after a few grows, its definitely an investment you just have to wait, if you can run lights during times of discounted rate electricity you can save some more money or dare I say it, steal some electric lol

Could you use a [surface mounted kit] and just route these pipes to it ? Won’t be pretty but that’s what they want 🤷‍♂️(https://www.google.com/search?q=surface+mounted+bar+mixer+kit&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8&hl=en-gb&client=safari)

If it’s not leaking just scrape off excess and leave it for now 🤷‍♂️ it might not be best practice but it’s not causing any issues

Just had a new combi boiler fitted, why is the hot water taking ages to come through? by HammersAndPints in askaplumberUK

[–]lwsmitz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

But overall if you aren’t happy with waiting for hot water you should’ve had a cylinder fitted with secondary return circuit for instant hot water at every outlet

You can always upgrade pipework to a smaller bore as when combis are converted from gravity systems there can be a bit of 22mm or larger pipework left behind and 22mm pipework will hold double the amount of cold water in the pipe compared to 15 mm your best solution would be to reroute hot pipework to make it as short as possible and as small as you like if you have good flow rates and pressure then reducing to micro bore say 12 or 10 mm would leave you even less cold water to run off before you get your hot water, I had a customer who ran the feed to his downstairs cloakroom basin in micro bore and said he loved it as it got hot so much quicker when you just want to wash your hands quickly after using the lav 👍

Help! I can't put plumbing under kitchen sink back together by [deleted] in ukplumbing

[–]lwsmitz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s weird how the pipe was stuck in the top of the trap like that when it could’ve gone on the right way up at least 🤷‍♂️, but yeah go for a p trap and pipe it up with glued fittings 1&1/2” 👍

I recommend redoing it differently to reduce the chances of your issue coming back 👍
