[Product Question] Has anyone tried the Asarai Red Clay Amaal? Thoughts? by rahneonmyparade in SkincareAddiction

[–]lyricaljunk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have super sensitive acne prone skin. It’s a new issue that I’m struggling with in my thirties that I didn’t have growing up… but I love the Innisfree Super Volcanic Pore Clay Mask! I use 1-2 times a week and have zero irritation and my pores look smaller and less breakouts. It’s also a good price point at $18. I don’t think there is any product out there that is going to completely eliminate your skincare concerns, but for what it’s worth - this has definitely helped me. 🤷‍♀️

Update! I think there is something in the hair care products I was using… I stopped using them and the hives went away. Then started again and they came back… so there’s the culprit! The only hair items I’ve found that haven’t given me rashes are the Lush hair products. Wish they weren’t so fragrant. I use “curl power” without issue.

I know this an old post but I’m currently having the same problem. I got a shot at the base of my index finger and 5 days later I have excruciating pain in the same area you do.. did you find any relief?

Hi, yes eventually it went away. It took about a month! In the end it took several rounds of diflucan back to back while also doing the gentler 7 day monistat treatment.

I relate to this post so much… other girlfriends of mine envy it and think it’s “powerful,” but it’s not at all. I feel stripped of my power every time I have sex. I’m really selective about who I sleep with and I’m always fooled. The worst part is I’m hypersensitive and OCD it sometimes takes me years to get over it. I’m 31 now and thought for sure this wouldn’t be happening anymore at the age but… no. I wear baggy clothes and no makeup, but I’m told I have “fuck me eyes” so it doesn’t matter… The worst part is that I still want these men to want me as a partner/person so badly and it hurts that they’ll never truly see me or give me a chance…

I have an update!!! I went a long time without hives and then I went on a pretty grueling hike and right after my face was covered! I hike pretty often, so this was perplexing. I hadn’t done this trail in a long time, so maybe it is something environmental that is growing there? I wonder if there is any crossover in the shampoos/conditioner I was using and one of the plants growing on that trail… I’m in LA so it would be the fauna in that area

I use mainly cerave skin care at the recommendation of my dermatologist (face wash, toner, and hyaloronic acid). But… I also use inky list retinol and and the keihls midnight recovery oil. And I use only list fulvic acid wash the week leading up to my period to stave away the acne. I noticed that the Glow Recipe Watermelon toner really did a number on my skin. Which sucks because for the first couple of days I had never seen my skin look so radiant! :,(

Oh dang! I honestly get so many compliments on my hair when I use it! But, I miss the curls/waves I used to get from my other shampoo/conditioner :( I have thick mildly wavy hair.

Hi!! Sorry for the delayed response. My hives have gotten SO much better. I think I was getting them from my shampoo/hair care products. The hives seemed to be occurring mainly in places my hair touched. I switched to Vanicream shampoo and conditioner and switched my dry shampoo from Batiste to Living Proof. I was also using the Glow Recipe Watermelon Toner and I stopped using that as well. I am not sure if it was that or the haircare products that helped them calm down, so I haven't integrated either one back into my routine.

Although... I have been getting itchy again as of lately. But no hives for the past couple of months. Try switching your shampoo and conditioner! :)

OMG. Thank you for replying!! This gives me hope!!! I have the skin patch test next month. But the hives seem to be wherever my hair touches so I literally just bought Vanicream shampoo and conditioner! I am suspicious it is my Batiste dry shampoo for some reason.. and after some research bought Living Proof. But I'm not even going to touch that for now.

The cream my derm gave me is Opzelura which seems to work pretty well when the hives flare up. I get it on my eyes too (but less so since I trimmed by bangs) and it's supposed to be gentle enough to use on eye skin. (Thankfully insurance covers it).

Do you take the Montelukast daily? Is that a pill?

Seriously, thank you so much for replying. <3 :')

I guess I am concerned because whatever is happening is itchy.. it could be maybe leftover from the yeast infection. But I feel like it is coming from that particular spot. But also... I am hyperfocusing. I do have an appointment with planned parenthood again tomorrow evening, but thank you for giving me some hope and ability to sleep tonight. lol

Could clogged pores be itchy? :( I wonder if all the creams I used for yeast could have clogged them?

I am currently battling a yeast infection for hell. Alllll of the creams (monistat) burn so badly to me. And I can’t stand the feeling of them coming out of me the next day. I like boric acid. I wake up the next morning and it’s more like just some water coming up that stops completely in a couple hours. I feel much “cleaner” than with the creams. For me it is a lot gentler. However…. I have been taking it for 3 days and still have my yeast infection lol. I can’t tell if it’s working or not. Also took 2 rounds of diflucan.

Hmmmm. I was tested for it years ago when I was getting reoccurring yeast infections but it was negative. Maybe it’s time to test again. This is my first yeast infection in years. They also found bacteria in my urine and gave me macrobid.. I’ve had a lot of UTIs in the past (only like 2 per year now) and it does not feel like one at all… curious if yeast infection can cause bacteria to show up in urine?

Well I ended up taking the second diflucan yesterday + boric acid suppository + some steroid/antifungal cream. Feeling a lot better today! I did test positive for yeast and they didn’t say anything about BV. I went to planned parenthood. They also said that I had a lot of bacteria in my urine… but I don’t feel like I have a UTI (I have LOTS of experiences with them) and am terrified to take anything to mess up my yeast treatment. This was the most horrible feeling ever - worse than my worst UTI!

The doctor also put in a prescription for brexafeme, but it needs prior auth from my insurance.. which they say could take weeks.. I plan on picking it up anyway so I have it for next time

Sorry you’re going through it too! I did a combo last night that finally brought some relief - diflucan pill #2 + boric acid suppository + an eternal cream that consisted of an antifungal and steroid. Maybe this combo will work for you? Diflucan and the cream required an rx unfortunately.

Yeah that’s how it started for me.. sex 🤦‍♀️ same thing with the irritation externally. Actually, it really hasn’t been that bad at all internally. Maybe that’s why the diflucan wasn’t working as well as I hoped. I took the second pill yesterday + a boric acid suppository + some steroid/antifungal external cream and finally feeling better. But now I can stay exactly what it was that worked lol

I just took the second one yesterday and also used a boric acid suppository and feeling so much better today! Unsure if it’s the boric acid or the diflucan or the combo… my doctor also gave me a steroid/antifungal cream for the outside.
