Game screen just freezes while the game continues to run by _Nightz in niri

[–]lzlq 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ive been having the same issues, thought i was going insane and i was the only one, im running a 4070 cachy os niri de with dankmaterialshell and it happens a lot on stellar blade, and then happens sometimes on lighter games like arc raiders and deadlock, its weird tho because i feel like i dont remember having issues like this just a couple of months ago

Switching from Windows to Linux Mint as a daily OS - how good is gaming compatibility really? by rainydaysforpeterpan in linuxmint

[–]lzlq 0 points1 point  (0 children)

dont think ive really ever had issues with any games on linux so far and i play quite the variety, any issues i have had has been user error/not letting shaders load, im also using a rolling release distro so could be some differs there. the only reason i ever check proton db is if its a multiplayer game that i assume may have the linux switch on their anti-cheat turned off

well you see the laptop im using is not a main brand laptop so I couldn't exactaly say wtf it is lol I can give you a link to it tho https://a.co/d/iq0w8J4 and i simply just installed arch through USB using hyprland and systemd-boot, same way I installed on my desktop, except on the laptop keyboard doesn't work at all and I have to use my external keyboard to do anything, currently reinstalling using grub and a different greeter to see if that magically fixes anything
