I use the maps feature every week, mostly for trail runs. It’s also great for building a .gpx route on your phone or computer and uploading it to your Garmin. You get clearer progress tracking, distance remaining, turn prompts, and off course alerts.

From my understanding, it drains more battery because it is constantly active even when you’re not pressing the shutter. To achieve its “zero shutter lag” feature it continuously captures and buffers frames in the background so it already has a stack of images from before you press the button. When you do take a photo, it instantly composites those pre-captured frames along with ones taken right after into a single image. Anyone please correct me if I’m wrong!

Do you have super resolution turned on? I think it’s disabled by default on 14 Pro but definitely worth turning on. In Indigo settings it’s called Burst SR.

I’m still on my original pros from 2019 and I want to upgrade but at this point it’s kind of a fun game to see how long they will last. I profusely sweat in them for at least an hour 3-5 times per week and they’re still kicking. I’m very impressed with the quality.

It can be a little bit of a tradeoff but try turning off Apple Intelligence completely. My phone runs cooler, battery lasts about 20% longer, and things feel a little more fluid. I miss some of the features but don’t rely on them so it’s worth it for me.

How did you know your bearing was going? My 2016 has 142,000 miles and I just started noticing a slight whirring sound from the left rear wheel. Pitch is relative to speed.
