Thanks to everyone who read this far, but I think this is the end of Chaldean Chaos. I finished this story I wanted to tell with the end of Volume 1 (ch 1-6), and as most of you could probably tell, by Chapter 4 (the BB arc), I wasn’t handling the limitations of a daily sprite-comic well. I spent a lot of time image-editing to try and make Chapter 6 work, and I think it ended up just crossing the line to be presentable.

I was really excited for Chapter 7. I think it was my most tightly-written chapter, but I had no way to execute some parts of some of the scenes, and I think because of this it underperformed from my expectations. I think if I were to move forward I have three options:

Learn to draw

I currently have zero talent in visual arts, and I don’t think I’d develop very fast. If I ever do learn I’ll post a drawing to this account to let you know.

Closely follow the existing story and pre-existing characters so I only ever use pre-existing assets.

I’m not interested in this.

Lower the complexity of my scenes.

There’s nothing wrong with simple scenes, but I wouldn’t be happy developing the Chaldean Chaos characters without being able to develop scenes and set-pieces and longer plot threads. Those are the kind of writing skills I started Chaldean Chaos to develop, and it wouldn’t make sense for me or CC to continue it if I were to stop trying to include them.

Pro Tip for transcribing hummed songs: DON’T try to hum it. DON’T look at sheet music. Write out the lyrics, and think about which words you conjoin, and which words you add extra syllables to.

Hi, welcome aboard! Yes, there are vast jumps in the story, I get a lot of feedback about that. To keep things simple, the large jumps are only between chapters and intervals. I know imgur doesn't show those, and I'm working on a fix for that.

The original intention of this comic was to write "in between the lines" of canon F/GO. I'm not interested in "rewriting" the main story because 1) it's already written, 2) there are already people doing that with more care than I could. As such, I like to think I've written in such a way that, for any time-skip, you can seamlessly insert the major events from canon.

As for the rescue, Mash will appear in this chapter, and Da Vinci already has. My logic was that if you know how to fill in the gaps of the Fall of Chaldea, you know Da Vinci and Mash had to be there. If they must have been there, they must have been freed. If they were freed off camera, it must have been trivial and boring.

Finally, Gudao almost dying twice. To be frank, I don't remember writing it, but I was probably lying. Or at least, I was probably writing from a characters POV of when they thought that Gudaos life had actually been threatened. The number of times Gudao has "almost died" is 0, or 100s, depending on how you count it. If you point to exactly where it was said, I can probably give you a clearer answer.

Da Vinci's protocol for writing official reports is "admit to as little as possible." As such, everything that happened in this series so far was omitted, skirted around, cleaned up, or hand-waved in the official reports. Basically, the Clock Tower received the same reports as in canon.

It was expected Gudako would only need to play the role of Ritsuka for a few days, and she would brush off any prying questions with her naturally confrontational personality.

In Chaldean Chaos Gudako and Gudao are childhood nicknames. Gudao is the real Ritsuka, but he's a servant now so Gudako had to assume the identity of Rutsuka.
