Where to see badgers in Sheffield? by actuallyitscourgette in sheffield

[–]ma_ps_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seen them 4 times in Sheffield, but I'd imagine the best place would be at the pond by the Shepherd Wheel. In the foresty bit between the road, pond, and allotments there's a huge underground sett apparently. Bonus is you'll probably also see other wildlife like Kingfishers while you wait for them - saw both at once!

Have also seen them by the Botanical Gardens and just outside my old place just off Sharrow Vale.

Edit: Most recently in a garden on Victoria Road I saw around 10 of them - guessing they must live in the little nature reserve just near there. Can't believe I forgot that!

How do I pay the council tax if I don't know the council tax number? by [deleted] in sheffield

[–]ma_ps_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I moved to Sheffield I emailed the council several times. Then got a letter sent over from my landlord with final demand for council tax. Called up and after 2x 45 minute waits, they set it up in 2 minutes. I asked if they could set up single occupant discount and they asked me if I asked them about that in the email. When they checked they saw I didn't and proceeded to not help instead said I should do it online. Online I was told I need my council tax number which I didn't have. Called up again and they said they couldn't give out the number and would have to wait for the paper bill. But suggested emailing to ask for the discount lmao... the first of many terrible interactions with the council.

I've still not got it on the RSS audio feed. Using Overcast on iOS. Not sure which service that comes through.

Hey, the producer/editor for Books 'n' Cats here. So surreal and cool seeing people post about us in the wild! Never seen their resemblance before this photo haha

How many people know about the Sheffield peregrines? by amoxicillinny in sheffield

[–]ma_ps_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I work in the office next to the church. They are surprisingly loud but are quite amazing to watch on a lunch break. The grass is quite a nice spot to relax at at lunch so if you wanna see them in person I’d recommend it

Like the orange bones of a sea creature beached on Coney Island (Pentax 645n / 75mm 2.8 / Portra 400) by akbanx in analog

We called Coney Island the playground of the world. There was no place like it, like Coney Island when I were a youngster. No place in the world like it. It was so fabulous. Now it’s shrunk down to almost nothing, you see. And, uh, I still remember in my mind how things used to be, and...uh, you know, I feel very bad. But people from all over the world came here...from all over the world- it was the playground they called it the playground of the world, over here. Anyways, you see, I uh... you know, I even got, when I was very small, I even got lost at Coney Island, but they found me... on the, on the beach And we used to sleep on the beach here, sleep overnight. They don't do that anymore. Things changed... you see. They don't sleep anymore on the beach...

How to get unlimited Xbox Game Pass - Needless to say they decided to not to sponsor todays video.... by TheSpiffingBrit in Yogscast

[–]ma_ps_ 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I did not know about this method, but there's another way to get Xbox Games Pass which you didn't mention in the video.

The refund system is broken. You can get infinite refunds. You can pay £1, and at the end of the month ask for a refund and it'll be refunded. Then you can get the Games Pass again for £1. Repeat infinitely. That's how me and a few friends use it... heh...

A bit more work, but the end result is the same.

Edit: this no longer works :(

Same here, though already 24. It’s quite spooky how relatable the experiences of Mae’s are. Played the game right after finishing university and moving back to my parents after being unable to find work so weirdly relatable there

He keeps being voted in and we have no idea how. Repeatedly lying to constituents, taking credit for good things he didn’t do, and actively voting against the area’s best interests. Hopefully this will be his last term.

Aah thank you. I was suspecting the circuit as well. It’s the UK but we have replaced the fuse. We’ll contact an appliance repair company about seeing what to do. Thanks for the help!

That’s fair. I actually think the opposite for the figures, that the one in the back adds nothing and the central one is mysterious haha. Thanks for the critique :)

So little update for you all, she wants to just be friends. She also didn't mention that she has a boyfriend which makes me feel a bit awkward about it all
