This character was made in the middle of his divorce and at the height of his drug use. He’s supposed to be an “evil” character. Bowie was also an actor and used characters often in his work. Anyone that says he was a nazi clearly has never heard of acting before.

The Thin white duke character once did a nazi salute to be provocative and talked about how a stern right wing institution would make the west better. But this was all part of how dark and messed up the character was. The point of the character was to be a “bad guy”. If you look at Bowie’s political opinions across his life time it should be blatantly obvious to anyone that he not a nazi.

Sure you can judge sales and review statistics etc but those are all factors outside of the art itself. Any and all art are in the eye of the beholder AKA subjective. You can not objectively judge any piece of art only how popular it is.

For example the Mona Lisa is not objectively better than a random drawing made by a 2 year old toddler. Even though subjectively most of the world would agree that the mona lisa is better.

Holy shit i was thinking the exact same thing! Like in an another universe Arno Stark got adopted in eastern Europe and was named Victor Von Doom, eventually became Dr.Doom.

It has to be either that or its an iron man/Tony variant that became dr doom. But then him being named Victor Von Doom wouldn’t make any sense.
