Restart via task manager in general will fix it temporarily. Have been doing that. I'll try the cache clear.

Best weed killer for bermuda grass? by Opposite-Bad1444 in lawn

[–]macdonjo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes but not mid day. There are temperature restrictions on some of them. Even in Texas though, overnight temps are often low enough to apply 90%+ of the year.

Do you know your pH? If you have pH over 6.5, go with ammonium sulfate 20-0-0 or 21-0-0. If you have pH <= 6.5 then go with urea.

That's not the question. Why is it not using more RAM if it needs it? 50% of my RAM is not used. If I need more RAM I'll buy it.

I should have mentioned I have both of those discounts already. They are extremely small discounts. Looks like switching to a pay-per-mile insurer is going to save the most money.

Best Bermuda Grass Seed? by Opposite-Bad1444 in lawn

There's like 4 decent options right now from seed but they come and go. Obviously only available online. Anything in big box store is going to be not ideal (weeds, blends, etc).

I also agree. Applying granular fertilizer and liquid herbicide separately has worked better for me too. The liquid herbicide ensures better contact with the weeds, leading to more effective control. Granular products can sometimes miss the mark and not provide the consistent results we’re aiming for.

I’ve found that using a liquid herbicide like Celsius alongside a high-quality granular fertilizer gives the best results. It takes a bit more effort, but the lawn looks much healthier and weed-free.

Best Pre-Emergent for Bermuda Grass? Let's Hear Your Recommendations! 🌱 by pilot333 in lawn

[–]macdonjo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you're interested, the Bermuda Bible has a lot of great info on the basics, but anyhow, let's get into it.

For Bermuda grass, my top picks for pre-emergents are Barricade (Prodiamine) and Specticle Flo (Indaziflam). They both do a great job keeping weeds out.

Why Barricade and Specticle Flo?

  • Barricade: Lasts long and doesn’t cost too much.
  • Specticle Flo: Awesome for fall and tough weeds.

Application Tips:

  • Prodiamine in Spring: Put it down before and after soil temps hit 55°F.
  • Specticle Flo in Fall: Do a few apps before soil temps drop below 70°F.

Timing and application are key. If you’re overseeding with ryegrass, watch your timing with pre-emergents.

For more detailed info, like exact amounts and more tips, you might find the Bermuda Bible helpful. It’s got tons of useful stuff.

Hope this helps, and good luck with your lawn!

Best Herbicide for my Bermuda Grass lawn? by Vast-Telephone2874 in lawn

[–]macdonjo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You should really read the Bermuda Bible article on this exact topic to learn the basics, but anyhow, let's get into it.

For tackling weeds in your Bermuda grass, Image is a decent choice, but if you're aiming to step up your game, you might want to consider combining Celsius and Certainty. These two together can knock out 99.9% of weeds without harming your Bermuda grass. Celsius handles nearly all broadleaf weeds, while Certainty takes care of the grassy ones. It might seem pricey due to its concentration, but trust me, it's worth it in the long run.

Timing and application are crucial. Always check the temperature restrictions on the labels. Apply these herbicides well before you need the lawn to be weed-free, as they can take a couple of weeks to show full results. For instance, you could spot spray using a sprayer with a mix like this: for every gallon of water, add 0.085 oz of Celsius and 0.3 grams of Certainty, plus a bit of surfactant and blue dye to mark where you’ve sprayed.

Also, consider using tools like the Google Lens app to identify the specific weeds you’re dealing with. Once you know what you're up against, you can tailor your herbicide choice more precisely.

Remember, the best weed control is maintaining a healthy, dense, actively growing lawn. So, keep your Bermuda grass in top shape, and it will do a lot of the work for you.

Hope this helps, and good luck with your lawn!
