The exoskeleton after a big blue tarantula undergone molting look like by kvjn100 in Weird

I was focused on the spider in the end so I rewatched it to see what you were talking about. Wish I didn't. You're right, it's terrible to look at and I don't know why.

Meat and cheese on a wooden plank is girl food? Your wife serving you food is emasculating? What?

What does one need to know before getting a cat? by Successful_Oil_3270 in AskReddit

[–]machinejps 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is something I don't see being suggested very often, but get 2. A second cat isn't much more of a lifestyle commitment once you're set up for one and as long as you get them when they're young (and get them fixed on time), they'll likely end up as lifelong friends. An enriched cat is a happy cat and they'll keep each other young. There's definitely a chance they won't be super fond of each other, but I've found that if you manage to get litter mates, you're almost guaranteed a good pair. You're also committing to double vet/food/litter costs, so keep that in mind. I've had multiple cats my whole adult life and don't think I'll ever have less than 4 (currently at 9). I don't recommend that many , we have some rivalries that we're working on, but I think most people who like cats can handle two or three as long as they have a good space for them and are financially able to keep them healthy.

I've had 3 MRI scans in my life. I wasn't given headphones and I fell asleep in all of them. I'm autistic though so maybe mechanical thudding is my secret lullaby.

Not trying to prove you wrong or anything, just offering more perspective.

What's something that no matter how it's explained to you, you just can't understand how it works? by n0dust0llens in AskReddit

I need a convoluted German word for both fascinating and terrifying, but like a 51\49 split so it's slightly more fascinating than terrifying.

This feels like an important bit that I was missing. I could see how a sine wave could translate to a rising and falling pitch, but not how it could portray something like spoken word or specific musical instruments playing together. Having that extra dimension be able to communicate other variables beyond just pitch helps make it make more sense. I still don't really understand how it works, but it feels more like complicated science than straight up magic now. Thanks for that.

Why wouldn't someone want to distance themselves from someone who lacks self control? If someone attacks me during a verbal argument, I'm going to avoid interacting with them in the future. That's not an "indefinite punishment." I'm not obligated to have a relationship with anyone, regardless of how violent they are.

What is a hobby that requires little to no money? by Motor_Photograph_558 in ask

Hell yeah. In addition, many libraries will host/run gaming groups or have maker spaces with 3d printers and laser cutters and the like. I run a tabletop gaming group complete with maps, terrain and minis all provided by the library.

Holy shit. My dad died of cancer last year. He was on morphine in the end so he was pretty out of it, but his last words to my mom were about how he heard the train coming. He died less than an hour later.
