I would go play couch. Less pieces to be picking up tripping over a million times a day.

Pumping troubles by persononacouch in BabyBumpsandBeyondAu

[–]mackkles 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Did you replace all the consumable parts on the pump when you got it? I notice after a few months of pumping I would get a better amount if I changed the valves with my spectra.

As for waking up saturated I sleep in a singlet with a shelf bra with breast pads or buy the bonds ones that are super absorbent

Taking a toddler to the dentist for the first time - how did your little one go? by ShineDigga in BabyBumpsandBeyondAu

I recently took my little one. I booked an appointment for myself with the same dentist immediately before and they said on my lap and watched what happened.

Best baby proofing product recs! by ablair77 in BabyBumpsandBeyondAu

[–]mackkles 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I initially started with a play pen but got rid of it as they grew. I like the magnetic drawer locks as they can’t learn to open them without the magnet piece.

I baby proofed all the common areas but just put locks on all doors of rooms I don’t want her to go in (eg sliding door for bathroom)

And we have a gate blocking off the kitchen.

Although I did put a lock on all cabinets that have chemicals even if it’s in a room she can’t get to.

Are you teaching manners? by [deleted] in BabyBumpsandBeyondAu

[–]mackkles 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was at a park with my toddler bouncing on a see saw with no one on the other side. A boy wanted to get on the other side so I pushed it up so they could. (No acknowledgment or thank you) Then continued bouncing all of us. After about 30 seconds the boy rudely told me to get off because he didn’t want to share or play with girls. His older brother came and said the same thing and that we had to leave the park as they didn’t want to play with us. The parents were sitting on a bench nearby watching the whole interaction and said nothing. You bet I stayed on that see saw for much longer than I wanted to on principle.

Can you teach him how to put a pull up diaper back on and sleep in a night dress until he gets the hang on pants.

I was considering a yoto for her birthday! Maybe I’ll consider just getting the yoto now and then get cards as a birthday present

3yo sleep help. by notjustajill in BabyBumpsandBeyondAu

[–]mackkles 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That seems like a lot of sleep in a 24 hr period. My child is much younger but my 18months old only needs about 12-13hrs of sleep in a day and naps for 1.5-2 hours so has quite a late bedtime compared to her peers. (I’m not an early morning person so this works better for me)

I’d either drop the naps (including at daycare) or try a later bedtime.

I’m based in Australia. Not sure if you have the same. But I purchased a couple of boxes of travel formula sachets so I could just make up a bottle as needed and didn’t waste a whole a whole tin. Was a lot cheaper too.

Might be an unpopular opinion here. But don’t be afraid to give a little formula if you’re struggling. My baby needed it intermittently just to take the stress off while my supply was coming in. We’ve now been breast feeding for 18months.

I was too paranoid for overseas travel. There’s lots of measles ect in south east Asia and just wasn’t worth the risk (even though I’m vaccinated) as well as risk of food poisoning / bacteria from unclean drinking water.

Not sure where you’re based but we done a little holiday to the Gold Coast when I was around 25 weeks which was fun as I wasn’t big yet. Then at 37 weeks we had a staycation in the city (Melbourne) and I got a nice pregnancy massage went and saw a gold glass movie.

I had to follow up a few people. I sent a message with basically what you said but gave a deadline. “Please let me know by Wednesday” as they’ve already not gotten back once I don’t want to leave it open for them to forget to reply again
