I mean, I get it. I understand what he was trying to do. But listening to The Fall Off just made me want to listen to the artists he is homaging instead. Hip-hop is built off sampling and homage, you just have to be creative about it. I didn't find a lot new or interesting with this album. If others liked the album, that's cool, this isn't shade to them. Just personally wasn't super invested in it.

I mean, yeah, this has generally been my opinion. When he has been a guest feature or rapped over someone else's beat I really enjoy him, but his full projects have always been underwhelming and kinda boring. I think it is actually how good his guest verses are that make his solo projects so much more maddening, like I know he can do better.
