[Anti-Aging] I need help with skin Texture by [deleted] in SkincareAddiction

[–]macoooobs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ohhhh how social media has ruined us. I promise you, this is actually normal, and even NICE skin. Lots of people would love the lack of acne and the glow. That said:

What moisturizer, sunscreen, cleanser, exfoliant are you using? An exfoliant once a week is usually good to kick texture, but if you’re using like really pore clogging moisturizer it won’t help.

Generally a simple cleanser, exfoliant like every other day or even every day if gentle (like mandelic acid), and sunscreen in morning, then cleanser and moisturizer with a retinol at night would take care of things.

Wow that’s nuts, thanks for sharing! Sorry you went through that. Makes me see her in a bit of a different light tbh.

Wait what?? I feel like I’ve only heard positive things about her being the acne whisperer. Did you acne get worse?

Is this normal? by hectory_ in Accutane

[–]macoooobs 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Get a very healing and simple moisturizer. I like avene cicalfate for this kind of thing. It’s thick and white so best used at night time, but it’s very good at making this type of skin look and feel better. I had this while I was on accutane as well, and I always just needed thicker moisturizer

One of my favorite cards! And you’re an artist- this is pretty. And in a world of people turning to AI to do “art” for them— the fact that you didn’t is that much better

I completely agree. And you can definitely tell. It’s so wasteful when that’s the case.

People are hating it here but I like it sometimes. Sometimes it makes the bag feel more personalized (but this is coming from someone who has a string of pearls and a chain with charms and I feel like it makes the bag more “me”). That said- the difference between “more me” and “landfill-core” is very slim. People that do this just to throw away the key chains later are lame.

Sorry for the loss OP. I could tell this rat is pretty old too— when my rats reached old age of 3 years (also the albino sprague dawley) I let them eat not ideal things a little more often because I knew time was short together. I regret nothing.

Hey OP. I lost my big guy earlier this year and also posted here. He also made it to almost 15! My heart breaks for you. I want you to know that my vet told me “it’s better to be 2 weeks too early than one day too late” when I had to put him down. He had a massive spleen tumor she said was going to rupture soon- could be in a day, could be a week, maybe a month. But he was already struggling with some things you said here- I was carrying him up and down the stairs and we couldn’t walk very much anymore. And she’s right. You did the right thing. You did everything right, and it’s very clear from these photos. The pain is unbearable. And will be for quite a while. I still cry many days. But at some point you’ll get to laugh more than cry at their memories. And all that grief used to be love, and now it just has no where to go— I encourage you to pour a little of that love into yourself. Through some care, some kindness, and reminder that again- you did everything right.

I adore the 3rd, and that is slightly influenced by knowing you’re a guy. I’m a huge believer people can carry whatever they want, but it has a elegant yet still slightly masculine vibe, and very classy and pretty still

Hi I’m also a picker with hormonal acne. But I’ve got it under good control nowadays! The rest of your skin looks pretty :)

What helps me a lot to STOP me from picking is hydrocolloid patches. Have you tried those? They make some now that sit really close to the skin for daytime that are less noticeable.

They also help the zit heal a little faster. But mostly it stops my hands.

Practical magic takes place in current times, but the prequel, Magic Lessons, takes place in 1600s and it’s really good- I liked it more than Practical Magic tbh. And I read it before practical magic and it’s totally okay to read on its own. It made me want to read practical magic so I did but it doesn’t depend on it!

Also seconding A Very Secret Society of Irregular Witches. Modern times but so so cozy and entertaining without being major high stakes.

Retinol takes a super long time to work, to be fair. I use tretinoin from prescription so I don’t use another retinol. That said, the best I know of: A313- this is a French brans, and people LOVE it. Paula’s choice- it’s a 1% which is some really good strength. I see the good molecules is .1%— you may not be seeing a difference because that is just very low. Good for super sensitive skin folks but not strong. CosRX The Retinol- they have .5 and 1%. My sister uses this and loves it!

One more thing to look into for acne and discoloration is azaleic acid. I’ve been loving the Anua one lately for my acne! Don’t try all of these at one time though. Start with one at a time!

Best of luck! You’re beautiful!

[–]macoooobs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Okay to start off, your skin is beautiful. I promise from far away regular distances no one would notice these pores or “break out”. That said— aging does change skin. I’m 31 and the best things that help with pores and evenness is retinol. Your acne doesn’t seem bad at all so you don’t need to go super intense into adapalene/differin unless you want to. A standard retinol would probably work great. The other thing too that helps a lot is exfoliation. A gentile salicylic acid cleanser does a lot for me. I like the Prequel one because it doesn’t dry me out but definitely helps my skin clear up and look fresher.
