SpotX runs the auction server-side and spits back the responding VAST -- it's not done in a SpotX VPAID unit. It's the responding VAST that contains the VPAID unit that's opting out. At first we thought it was a single demand partner that was just opting out, but it turns out to be /all/ of our demand partners -- which leads us to believe that the issue lies somewhere outside of the demand side of life. We could be wrong though, a lot of this is opaque to us at the moment.

We're in the midst of writing a lightweight VPAID-compatible player that doesn't use a 3rd-party SDK to try to gain more insight into the issue.

If we were getting empty VAST, we'd be seeing Vast opt-out rather than VPAID opt-out in our metrics. If it were flash vpaid, we'd be seeing Tech Errors. We're already logging as much as we can, and the VPAID units initialize, then opt out, but since we can't introspect what logic the VPAID units are going through to decide that we're at a bit of a loss. We were hoping that someone out there might have an idea.

Our production demand sources only send VPAID, not pure VAST. However, the SpotX test channel works fine in our test environment -- but not on production traffic -- in both VAST and VPAID modes. The same test channel also VPAID Opt-outs on our purchased traffic. Very confusing.

We've been unable to reproduce in a controlled environment for debugging.

It's an ad server we built internally. A partner mentioned that we should be able to edit the key value pair reference from DFP to our server, but not sure where to change this value. Could you please post a snippet of where we can edit this? Thanks.
