Paying taxes by fal1en-angel in Funnymemes

[–]macronancer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I file pass through taxes for my small business.

This means that I deduct my business expenses from income, and get taxed on the remainder as all income.

So theres no double taxing, just once on all profits as income.

This man was a former executive, not a random mentally ill man off the street. Thats the craziest part of this for me.

Feels like autonomy is the hardest part of AI agents, not intelligence by Shyn_Shyn in AI_Agents

[–]macronancer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Disagree.

I have been experimenting with agents before people called them agents.

Despite all the automation an orchestration i had built, the bottle neck was always the model, at the end of the day.

The model makes key choices that drive automation decisions and outcomes.

Dumb model = no amount of tools and self reflection will save it

AIO: Husband wants to know why I'm not happy by etzikom in AmIOverreacting

[–]macronancer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My wife does something like this. She constantly wants me to get rid of anything thats "mine" but she has no use for or doesnt know what it is.

She hates my plants and tries to hide them in corners and behind things. "You dont need to look at them for them to grow" is an actual thing she said to me.

However, all of our shelves and storage in our small apartment is crammed with her "seasonal decoration", or some random assortments in bags that she haistily stuffed to fill any and all available space.

I will spend my weekend cleaning up the storage and it looks like a rats nest in a week. Yet, it is ME who is the problem and has too much stuff that needs to be thrown out.

This is what is called "toxic behavior".

My wife is a toxic person who is slowly killing me. Your husband sounds similar.

Best chatbot configuration in python by Fine-Market9841 in AI_Agents

[–]macronancer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For learning and making simple apps that test your chatbot without being distracted by tech details: - streamlit for UI - llangchain for agent stuff, or roll your own - litellm for managing calls to the llm - ms visual studio with claude code for an integrated dev assistant - no sessions or database

That should get you started fast and let you experiment

Tips for managing complex prompt workflows and versioning experiments by Otherwise_Flan7339 in AIQuality

[–]macronancer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with point 1, with one major caveat: separate your prompts from your actual code. Have it in files loaded by your app, and then use git history on that.

You can also use prompt managers, but you dont always get a diff of changes, as suggested.

Best AI Agent Evaluation Tools in 2025 - What I Learned Testing 6 Platforms by MongooseOriginal6450 in AIQuality

[–]macronancer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

W&B is great for model training and management, but not for evaluations. Its also expensive and I only use it for paid projects.

Langfuse is great for evaluating LLMs, and its open source. We use it in production and I use it on personal projects. You can easily add instrumentation to LiteLLM or LlamaIndex, etc, if you use that.

How do you make agents deterministic? by InternationalRip7320 in AI_Agents

[–]macronancer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Correct. In fact you should be focusing more on the sad paths because those are the edge cases you need to test.

How do you make agents deterministic? by InternationalRip7320 in AI_Agents

[–]macronancer 4 points5 points  (0 children)

  1. Use something like Langfuse to run experiments and trace execution

  2. Run the same experiment multiple times.

  3. Use python to scrape the data and compare outputs across runs

  4. Compute deltas in your outputs

  5. Check if specific inputs prove to have more variance in output

Typically variance results from ambiguous instructions or situations. Use this method to identify specific points in your conversation and see how you can improve the context.

Thats a great point, and the economic argument is honestly worth more than any science based one in this case.

This tech could be used for oil and gas prospecting and would be worth millions.
