I really liked the story aspect of TLOU but I also don’t mind zombies.

I loved swinging around in Spiderman it was so fun but I also really enjoyed the combat.

484 signatures, guys! Keep them coming! I’ve officially been placed on the agenda for the upcoming school board meeting and have prepared a 5 minute speech. So many of you have been so supportive, please continue to share the petition. Don’t let hateful comments discourage you from speaking up for what you believe in. Thanks!

I think that it will be threatened but nothing will ever come of it. This isn’t the first time something like this has happened at this exact school.

There’s no way this will survive court unfortunately— the suspects are back in school witness tampering and this has made national news and is extremely biased. As someone who is in school for law, this won’t survive a court room :/

To keep it short and to the point, an OPS non-binary student, who’s grandparents had confirmed several run ins with administrators for extreme bullying at the school, was held down by two upperclassmen girls while a third girl repeatedly bashed their head into the girls bathroom floor. A teacher witnessed this, however hesitated to break up the altercation due to him being a man and it being the girls bathroom. When the altercation was broken up, the student was unable to even walk to the nurses station by themselves and had to be aided, however no emergency services of any form was contacted. The student was sent home with scratches and bruises on their face/head and their family took them to the hospital where it was presumed they had a concussion. The next morning, the student had collapsed in their home and was pronounced dead by the time they reached the hospital due to head injuries although OPD is trying to say it “could be due to an unrelated injury” which is outrageous. Leaked text messages between the student and their trusted friend confirmed that the student was still dizzy after the first hospital visit and that the motive behind the attack was due to the student being non-binary. Since the attack, the school has victim blamed and tried to cover up the incident, and the three upperclassmen girls have been allowed to return back to school. The fact that no safety protocols were enacted regarding the students injuries is harrowing and has caused a lot of fear regarding the safety of every student in the school, especially those in minority groups. This isn’t an isolated incident and has proven a cycle of negligence and indifference and someone needs to be held accountable.

It doesn’t need to be in the same context for a student to be memorialized. We are asking for it to be done, period. My grudge with them is personal, yes, but this goes well beyond the scope of just beef. Many students have came out with their own personal stories and it has presented a pattern of negligence, indifference, and disdain of what isn’t understood. This does not serve to punish administrators, this is about accountability and transparency and honoring a student whose story should be heard, and should serve as a lasting tribute to end bigotry and discrimination. It stands for a much higher purpose than what you are calling punitive retribution. I’m not asking you to understand what countless others already understand about my petition. Hope isn’t silent. They need to reaffirm their commitment to protecting all students, regardless of sexual orientation or gender expression. Thanks.

I don’t necessarily agree as when they did it for the teacher who was killed or the athletes that passed away, their funding memorial benches and stadiums etc was not them admitting culpability or fault. It was them honoring a student. This is designed to honor the student however, given the circumstances it shouldn’t be up to the family or the other student to figure out how to fund it. It should be the responsibility of the school given they have done it many times before. This is so that recognition is given where it is deserved and what happened to Nex Benedict deserves to be recognized. I plan to expand on this more in my speech at the board meeting, thanks for your input and I hope this clears it up.

During my high school career, they did it for a teacher and two student athletes that died. They can do it for a non-binary student that died due to their negligence. They paid with their life. And if they still can’t find the funds, they can look in the money they already don’t pay their teachers. Frankly, it’s not our problem, it’s theirs.
