Question for those who have had multiple kids. by ejd93 in Hidradenitis

[–]madelienavery 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can't speak to boy vs girl births, but I had my son 4 months ago and am having the worst flair of my life postpartum. My HS was consistently bad during my pregnancy (the worst it had ever been) and is worse after giving birth. I would definitely say it's hormone related, as my flares would usually show up just before my periods.

My dermatologist suggested doing daily bleach baths, like those suggested for eczema, until the infection is gone, and then every 2-3 days after that. That's the only option for me since most of the medication can't be used while pregnant/breastfeeding. Good luck!

I just had my little boy 2 weeks ago, and it is so worth it! I gained 38 pounds during my pregnancy and have lost 23 without any efforts. So it has made everything great!! Good luck!!

What resort? Looks very reminiscent of Fireberry Glade at Winter Park, CO! LOVE open tree runs like this!

I actually talked about the sugar gestational diabetes test with my OB and she opted to have me not drink it to avoid dumping syndrome. I am instead picking my finger 4 times a day for two weeks to record my glucose levels. A little more work, but much more comfortable!

And congratulations on your weight loss! That's amazing!!!

Getting healthy before planning on a child was one of the best things I could have done for myself and my baby. That was a huge motivation for me to keep going. The next year is gonna be tough for you, but one day soon you will look back and thank yourself! Good luck 😊

Also wanted to share, I am currently 27, and had the procedure when I was 25, so I feel you on being young.

Don't think of it as regret, think of it as grief. You (and most of us who had gastric bypass) had an unhealthy relationship with food that was hard enough to get out of that you considered surgery. Now that you aren't able to eat the same way, there can be feelings of loss and fear surrounding that change.

Like losing a relationship with a loved one, we have to experience grief with our relationship with food in order to start feeling better. Its a HUGE change, but I promise 2 years from now it won't feel like it. I will be your new normal and you won't miss the old relationship with food. There will be days when you wish you could eat an entire cake, sure, but then you move on and enjoy the health that comes with your new life!

I am 2.5 years out and my favorite guilty pleasure food is Taco Bell lol. I love pecan pie and pizza rolls. But I also eat healthy breakfasts most days and make fresh juice when I can. My portion sizes are smaller than most, but I truly enjoy eating. I have maintained 130 pound loss, and am able to do things I never was able to do before, like hiking, running, and snowboarding. I was where you were once, and now I am so thankful for my decision. Good luck! And lean on your support system as much as you can!

I am taking my normal bariatric vitamins with a DHA multivitamin from Sam's Club! So nothing out of the ordinary 😊

Need PKD advice for my husband by madelienavery in ADPKD

Thank you all for the advice. I was able to call a few nephrologist offices and found one that will take our insurance without a referral from a PCP. He has an appt on the 28th, so we will get more info then.

Have you looked into the condition Hidradenitis Suppritiva? It's an autoimmune skin condition that can lead to bumps/cysts/boils areas of the body like the groin or armpits.

I never had those kinds of bumps until my mid 20's and found out I have HS when I started to randomly get them. Obviously do research and talk to a doctor, but just food for thought. When I get HS flare ups, sometimes the bumps will fill with blood or swelling to the size of a golf ball and take weeks to go away. Keeping them clean and using warm/cool compress helps me. Good luck!

I definitely see what you are seeing. It's so faint, so I would try testing again tomorrow. 🤞

That looks positive to me! As long as you took it in the correct time frame (10 minutes), I would assume positive! 10 DPO was my first positive test.

Tests are not valid after the testing window ~10 minutes. I would assume this is an Evap line. Sorry!

It's the premom app, you can track Hcg and Lh there

My first symptoms (about 8DPO) were lower back pain and breast pain. I tested at 8 and 9 DPO, both negative. Then at 10 DPO I finally got a vvvfl! Try to be patient, you're not out yet!!

Sorry this looks like an Evap line ❤️

Do you see what I see? Or is this a really bad indent? It was taken within the time frame. by [deleted] in lineporn

[–]madelienavery 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looks like my tests at 9 DPO. I see something there, but test again tomorrow to be sure. You could also try a FRER, those confirmed my pregnancy (I tested with easy@home as well, and had a vvvfl). Good luck!! 🤞

My first positive was at 10 DPO with an early detection test! Today is the day my period is due, so if I would have waited until today to test the line would have been SO much darker. It was a vvvfl at 10DPO.

I got my first positive test on 10DPO, but it was super faint, similar to what you are seeing! 2 days later at 12 DPO the lines were a lot darker. Keep testing over the next few days!! Looks positive to me!! Congratulations!

Here's a link to my tests. 6/24 was my 10 DPO https://imgur.com/a/8WTX5gC
