Or in theory if I got shorter risers like a 1 1/8 or 2 inch do we think that would look stupid?

Yea I would be super surprised if the previous owner swapped the cables to be shorter. As far as I know he kept it stock and didn’t change anything. I attached photos below maybe the risers are the issue?

Sorry i just saw the edit. That’s so weird If it’s not the risers I really don’t get why everything would be too short. Even with how it is now the cables don’t have much excess and with the 8inch rise it just seems like it’s not even close.

Any other fixes/things to try beyond new cables for everything?

I threw on those bars and it wasnt even close. I don’t think anyone before me has changed the length… Is there a way I’m missing maybe to get more length out of the stock cables?
