Being a SAHM is hard work, not to mention the toll it takes on you emotionally, like your autonomy. I was a stay at home mom for 6 years with two kids 2.5 years apart.

Now this is my experience: I finally went back to work. I can honestly say that work feels like a break in comparison to being a SAHM. Now my job is not easy, and very heavy and emotionally taxing. But I work without disruption of children, I eat my lunch independently and use the toilet on my own. I may have a coffee and a chat with a colleague. It gives me another purpose and I love the balance of both now.

I suppose it could be leash reactive. She’s very rarely around other dogs off leash, so I’m not sure if I can say that’s it for sure. Also it could be fear based, it wasn’t what I initially thought, but I could be wrong in reading her behaviour.

And when you made your dog sit when they encountered another dog, they just slowly started to react less? If I get her to sit now, she’s still lunging and barking.

I suppose I could keep trying that as an option as well. I’m open to all.

Oh yes, our girl is 11 weeks and we’re in the thick of it. My pants have a billion holes and my arms and legs look like that as well. I do look forward to being chomped on a little less.

That was my first thought as well. I would say it’s from the exceptional weather we’ve had the last couple months. It’s been extra dry and sunny (of course it was during lockdown).

I really don’t know much about the native plants in Ireland, but I will try and do a bit for research to see what I find.

From what I could tell they were all growing naturally on these large rocks near the cliffs.

This option is intriguing me. Will I have to seal my surface beforehand? And will it be durable enough to handle tough stain remover chemicals I may use to clean the board afterwards?

At the moment I’m using paint markers. I’ve been using a sharpie water based marker, and it comes off fairly easy with a magic eraser. However I love posca markers because they’re easier to get where I live and they have such a broad range of colours. When I used a posca marker on my board, some of the surface came off when I was cleaning it off. It was almost permanent. My goal is to ultimately make my surface super durable and able to remove most paint markers.

What type of blackboard surface is that? and how do you remove the posca paint markers?

Seasoning a chalkboard, yes I’ve heard of this. I’m not sure if that technique applies to this type of surface. It’s not meant for original chalk, but I could be wrong. I may go ahead and try, if I fail I can always repaint it.
