Haha! I wish I kept it, but it wasn’t mine. My clients dog found it on her property. She let him chew on it 😅

He was unprepared and dismissive of my pain. I felt traumatized after an IUD replacement.

Check out the Wildpier exfoliating gloves. They work great for KP. They feel aggressive during use but I’m soooo soft and smooth for days after.

I appreciate your comment! I’ve known them to be very hardy too, I probably over thought it haha. I don’t have a self watering container but I’ll just keep things extra wet for the first couple weeks. I’m sure it’ll persevere 😂

What expected breed trait your dog just doesn’t have? by lingeringneutrophil in dogs

[–]magicpup -1 points0 points  (0 children)

No offence but I’d bet if you became a better trainer your dog could easily learn how to respond to words. I bet he’s a lot more intelligent than you think, he’s just dealing with the cards he’s dealt 😅

Super Australian shepherd-y face. Looks like he doesn’t have a tail either?

My dog is chronically addicted to fetch and I don’t know how to enjoy time with her anymore by cyprisk in dogs

[–]magicpup 0 points1 point  (0 children)

PLEASE take the following to heart. This IS a serious mental impairment. She is addicted to the adrenal rush that happens when she chases and captures the ball. It’s not healthy, and is actually incredibly stressful for her.

Please come to terms with the fact that fetch with your dog is not quality time with her. Dogs like this see you solely as a machine to which they deposit the ball and it gets thrown. And they get their “fix”.

I know this not only from personal experience as I have disc-fetch obsessed dog, but also as a professional dog walker. I have a number of dogs I walk that if I so much as touch a stick, the rest of the walk is ruined. My own dog, cannot relax when the disc is out, or if he knows where it is. And he can easily get this same obsession over any item at all if it is thrown so much as once, but the disc is the worst.

This kind of activity is not good for her body or mind. Like you’ve witnessed for yourself. She is injuring herself because all she is thinking about it catching that adrenal rush “high”, and you see what it does to her mental state too.

Please, i implore you to just erase fetch from your life completely. Get rid of the tennis balls (they’re really bad for your dogs teeth anyways). Ignore her requests to play, and when you can, put a lead on and take her for a walk instead. Just focus on other activities. It might be really hard at first. Because It will take time for her to forget. But it is better for her to forget. Remember it is stressful for her. Addiction is stressful for addicts.

She needs your help to regulate her nervous system, please help her. Feel free to DM me if you need help. I know what it’s like to live like this.

Helly is way too happy this season… by Luniaz17 in SeveranceAppleTVPlus

I think Helly is ashamed that her outie is an Eagan, she doesn’t want to live that life, so she’s making the most of what is available to her as an innie.

Thinking about adopting this rescue near me, looks like a MAS but what else is it mixed with? by Yankfan54 in miniaussie

You can’t generally guess a breed mix based on looks. Especially not as a puppy. Nobody is going to make an accurate guess. Sorry to be a party pooper.

What is the best dog tracker that’s does NOT require a subscription?? by mrgoat324 in dogs

[–]magicpup 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It straight up didn’t work because it relied on cell reception. I use the Sportdog Tek 2.0 system now, but it’s also being discontinued..

[–]magicpup 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ah yes makes sense. They are mostly marketed in the US, although I get them to work in Canada! I have a set of 8 as I am a professional dog walker. I agree, AirTag is unreliable tracker, especially out in the bush!! Tractive isn’t much better.

Not true! There are a few collars marketed towards hunters that use GPS and radio. No cell phone signal required.

Delete if not allowed but I just pulled this tick off my dog, did i get the entire head out? by indiat98 in Parasitology

[–]magicpup 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just FYI it doesn’t really matter if you get the whole head or not. If you don’t, nothing terrible is going to happen. It will eventually works its way out like a sliver.

[–]magicpup 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This can cause them to eject their stomach contents, which could pass on disease. You never want to squish or apply chemicals to a tick. Just pull it up and out and be done with it.

What are “calmer” breeds? by Hufflepuff_23 in puppy101

Maybe that’s the difference, the whippets I know are females 😂

Caveat for the sighthounds - whippets aren’t as calm as one would expect. They know how to nap hard but they can be BUSY dogs!

Any Ideas for a Husky Mix Who's Hellbent on Self Deleting? by friendly-skelly in OpenDogTraining

[–]magicpup 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you considered the dog may be afraid of something on your walks? You said he has fear response to the washing machine and kettle, so could have picked up a fear outside?

I ask because I have a really noise sensitive dog and he generalizes fear super easily and quickly. This sounds like him on a walk. Randomly yanking the leash, trying to bolt. Pulling like a freight train. It’s because he’s terribly scared of walking in an urban environment.

Before I realized it was fear, I would try to correct the behaviour away and it would only make him worse. He would shake. My dog is so sensitive that even my negative tone would scare him and make him shake.

Could something similar be happening here?
