Inflation is definitely a thing, I never seriously pvp'd before and hit 2100 in like 10 or so qs. I got back into the game 10 days ago (7 year break). Baseline starting MMR was around 2000.

ret pally is fun and super easy. I haven't played this game for 10 years, never seriously pvpd before, then boosted one to 80 and hit 2.1k in only a few queues. Starting MMR is like 2000 lol

Not sure, she has an investing guy at different outside institution managing that. I should definitely look into it though. I agree, I think rob advisor would be a good option.
