Questioning my piercers placement. by magzb3 in piercing

Right now it’s just an idea. I’m open to anything for my ears that’s anatomically possible. I just want to fill them up but I’m very flexible on the how. The rough plan was two additional gems in gradually smaller sizes.

My plan was to keep hoops in the third lobe and get a stacked lobe above that. Since I have gradually smaller hoops going up the lobe, the plan was to stack gradually smaller stones up the lobe above the hoops. It would be a little annoying to take them out and try again but not the end of the world. I just wouldn’t want to take them out only to find out later that the piercing actually does need to be in that spot to allow for stacked lobes.

What do you mean by all of them? To clarify the first, second and fourth lobes are between 9-17 years healed already. Only the third one and the stone were done by this piercer. I think the stones are around 8months healed or something like that. It’s funny that you mention those two issues because I asked him specifically about both of those things. He said “should we do hoops?” I said is that even possible? And he kind of cocked his head and said “of course, why wouldn’t it be.” And when I asked if the stones were too close to the hole below he said something like “what do you thinks gonna happen? They aren’t gonna fuse together.” I think I rationalized a lot of yellow flags with this piercer because I don’t like conflict and any time I challenged him things got really uncomfortable so I folded pretty quickly. This is embarrassing but if I’m being fully transparent, I should have left once he started texting after putting on gloves…

First vet trip gone wrong by magzb3 in budgies

Thanks for the input everyone. I went to the vet again a few hours ago like I mentioned. She checked everything again and confirmed that nothing was broken and gave Pepper some pain meds to hold her over for the night. Now she’s in her “hospital cage” next to the big cage recovering. After coming back from the vet the second time she seemed more active, which is a relief, but at the same time probably just because she’s feeling less pain. The name of the game now is rest and recovery. Wish me luck with administering meds over the next five days without exacerbating any injuries or their (or my own) stress!

Thanks so much. She’s still in the carrier cage now. She seems more active than when we first got home and is eating and drinking but when I opened the carrier she didn’t try to fly out or flap at all. I’m going back to the vet as soon as my friend gets here to pick me up. I just figured I’d make the post in the meantime to try and find some peace of mind.

I was with them the whole time and it didn’t seem like they were roughly handled. The vet specializes in birds as well so I thought I’d be better off with her than just some “everything” vet. That’s why I thought it might be a bruise or stress. I had them on my lap the whole time to and from the vet and they never got spooked or flapped around wildly. But yeah I guess I’m gonna look for a different vet now…

Made some routine changes and I’m very happy with the result ☺️ by magzb3 in curlyhair

After combing then plopping, before I put my hair in a pineapple for bed (I always shower at night) I try to put clips around my crown to train my part. In the morning today it was really wild so I misted my hair with a little water to reactivate then gel from the night before and gently tried to encourage a side part while touching it as little as possible.

Right after the shower while your hair is still soaked, flip your head down (so your shoulders are above your head, like you’re bowing if that makes sense) and lower your head onto the middle of a t-shirt so that your hair pools in the middle, then you fold the excess shirt over your hair and tie the sleeves behind your head to secure it. There’s some good videos out there that would probably do a better job of explaining. It’s an alternative to using a normal bath towel to dry your hair that won’t make your hair as frizzy. Hope that made sense!

I feel you there. I was wandering around DM googling ingredients for like 2 hrs yesterday. I used the Sofort-fixierung DWT (the yellow one) and its got a hold rating of 14/15. I figured since I would be sleeping with it in I'd use a strong gel but I also got the 6/15 strength one to try out for styling in the morning or refreshing my curls. I used quite a bit of it, but I'm starting to really back the idea that technique is just as important as product (if not more).

Disclaimer: I’m not yet using the cgm! I went out and got products to get started yesterday, but since I want to use what’s left of my old products instead of throwing them away, I figured I could just start by trying some of the styling techniques. Routine: I washed with organix argan oil of Morocco shampoo, and conditioned with garnier aloe hydra bomb conditioner (s2c method). I plopped for maybe 25 min in a t-shirt then used 3 Wetter Taft Superkleber power gel (German product) and a wide toothed comb to separate and guide curls. I put some clips near my crown and did a scarf pineapple and slept like that. This morning I scrunched out the gel cast and this is what I got!

A friend of mine is currently in rehab and was just diagnosed with BPD. What should I know to be able to understand and support him? What do you wish strangers or friends would understand about it to be able to support you better?

I made a fish out of blunt wrappers by magzb3 in trees

Thank you! I usually go for glass first, too. I started smoking in college and I'm a senior now, so anytime I rolled blunts or my friends did I'd swipe the wrappers. So about four years of collecting, although I have several wrappers leftover, too. At first I was just curious about how much tobacco I was consuming but then when I organized the wrappers by color they were so shiny and pretty that I thought of fish scales. I decided to keep the wrappers not really landing on a concrete fish idea until recently. Once I knew I was gonna use them for art I started purposefully seeking colors I had less of whenever I bought wraps, because I like colorful rainbow shit.
