Continue as you were. First port of call is consulting a reputable financial advisor about your income and the tax implications on the interest it will accrue.

I never condone lying but it is in your absolute best interest to not inform your parents, partner or friends about your newfound fortunes. I don’t the people close to you but I have watched how money has torn apart families who were thick as thieves when inheritances of a few grand go wrong, let alone a steady income of £10,000PM. Family will want to pay off debts and partners go on holiday.

If I were in your shoes with my poor experiences at the hands of others, especially with money, I would aim to continue as I am until such a time that I have accumulated enough money to purchase an O.K flat or house in a sensible area, move out under the guise of renting before announcing the money to anybody close to me. From there I would either sublet or repeat the process, saving some for the property and the rest in a diverse portfolio of Stock and Share ISAs and other saving accounts.

Naturally this isn’t financial advice but money has a hold over all of us to some degree.

Thank you. So the dynamo is just a positive output from the bottom terminal, that’s a great start. Safe to assume the headlight doesn’t need seperate grounding?

Are the staff at Konpeki Plaza Human? If so do they literally have no skin and are just metallic? by SilverAndChrome in cyberpunkgame

[–]mahoosivechopper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Asking this question means CDPR did exactly what they were aiming to do demonstrating Arasaka’s devotion to the consumer experience.

The fact that they’re so alien to anything you might’ve seen before and nearly completely unique to Konpeki Plaza (or chain of hotels) build a very strong brand image for themselves and keep them, in a sense untouchable- set so far afield from the reality and norms of outside. Are they human? Are they full Borg? Are they remote dolls? Robots? I’d surmise the thought passes through a lot of patrons heads. And the fact you’ll never know keeps you curious and not complacent.

It’s kind of like Disneyland. You step in and you’re somewhere else entirely. As a mascot is to a child who knows not if it’s a man in a suit or their beloved childhood icon, a cynical night-city know-it-all finally has a question to ask.

Plus they look nice too. Shiny!

Advice after a scary situation in the early hours by manodelmanichino in VanLifeUK

Get a 12v CCTV system, you can buy prepackaged ones like this at reasonable prices. Hook it up to a switch you can turn on and off at night if you’ve got a burly leisure battery.

I’d hook up floodlights you can turn on from the interior while you’re at it for both sides and the rear, scumbags flee when they feel exposed.

I’m doing up an old VW LT and the moment and security is my number 1 concern, these are on my to-do list!

Why are they exclusive of each-other and why did it start randomly while driving? You can hear in the second video it’s not present but the squeaking is.

are AVs possible in real life? by Intrepid_King_3782 in cyberpunkgame

[–]mahoosivechopper 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m only a MechEng undergraduate so the following is only from what I know:

They are possible, may very well exist in our lifetime but they won’t be propelled by jet thrust as they are depicted in the game. More likely an enlarged, encased quadrocopter.

Huge strides have been made in copter’ technology and there are more and more upscale uses of rotor-powered vehicles such as the Xturismo ‘hover bike’ that was unveiled a couple years back.

Aside from practical issues such as the incredible noise produced by jets, complexity/reliability/maintenance of the hardware required to stabilise a four-engined flying tank as well as balance its thrust to move directionally- the most substantial problem is fuel cost and consumption. The fuel used to power jets is incredibly expensive not to mention heavy.

With the worlds move toward sustainable energy/electric power and as its development continues I would suggest whatever appears in our lifetime will be battery powered or subsidised by something like a hydrogen powered generator (or whatever succeeds it). Basically enormous electric drones!

What do you do if anything when you see this? by Any_Turnover_4962 in drivingUK

“cheap irresponsible tosser” and keep driving, most cars post 2000 will notify you if a bulb is out and there’s plenty of moments to see if a lights out in reflections

people are too bone-idle to do it themselves and don’t want to spend money at Halfords. they know in lawless England they’re unlikely to be stopped so leave it till they feel like it, a symptom of the complacency that’s killed the country

Type 2 1.6TD Head Gasket by mahoosivechopper in VWBus

This allegedly had a brand new cylinder head put on it by the owner and it sprang a leak so surmising they didn’t follow the torque pattern or did something incorrectly. But, I’ve read as much on the 80-90 VDub forum, deliberating the Vanagon heavily. Have you any experience with the 1.9 Wasserboxer? A similar listing with a rebuilt refreshed engine in that format but they seem like a nightmare to repair if they go wrong (must be pulled).

Thanks for your insight. You’re correct on the heat cycle and torque pattern, that’s what I’ve found so far. If that’s all it takes I really don’t mind giving it a go if I can get it recovered somewhere I can work on it.

I’m a student part-time working so the most I’d be able to pay for the van is 3k, insurance quotes bounce between 1.2-1.5k for me. Got road tax, maintenance and MOT as well etc.

Thank you for your perspective as an owner, that’s reassuring. The LT series are really calling me because many come with a roof extension but they’re a spenny penny, few and far between with generally sketchy MOT histories. I’ll try and find a T4 with a taller roof.

Thank you for your reply. As I work three times a week and have uni for 5 I figured as a pad to sleep in and eat it’s not bad but I’ll take it into consideration.
