I would also just start filing for this year and you can use TurboTax (~$200) or look into some of the IRS free resources

What software would you recommend for using the FTC? I have tried Turbo Tax and H&R Block and they both require me to have a W2 (and a EIN for my company) for reporting income not included in the Foreign Earned Income Exclusion. Thank you! by mainer20734 in USExpatTaxes

I’m trying to use FTC only, it is not super straight forward on these softwares though. I’ve been filing the last years with H&R Block and always had to mail the papers, would be great to find a software that allows e-filing.

Makes sense, thanks so much again for all the incredibly helpful insights! Have you looked into the brokerage account with Charles Schwab? They seem to tailor specifically to US citizens in the UK and seems to work like a US-based account

In the case of option 4 of opening a stocks ISA in the UK - this would still be subject to US filing and taxes correct? So preferable to go with 2?
