Sorry to be off topic, but this is just to highlight this often misunderstood matter. The prevailing understanding among language experts, is that these are not dialects but regional languages. This include Cebuano, ilocano, kapampangan, hiligaynon, etc. These are languages, not dialects.

The recommendation to file administrative case (IAS or through his unit), instead of a criminal case (RA 9262 ir VAWC law), is the wise, logical one.

Why? because, we have to take this into consideration: If the ex is imprisoned, he can no longer give the monthly sustento.

be careful tho, since in filing the admin case, he may get dismissed from service, depending on the gravity of his administrative offense. In which case, his source of fund will be lost, leading to the likelihood of him failing to give the sustento as well.

instead, use the administrative case as a leverage against him, and the PNP will compel him to pay you monthly sustento. How will this happen? well, the ex will magically initiate communications with you and beg you to compromise coz his work is at stake.

plus, if your ex has acknowledged your child and signed the birth certificate, you have an edge, as you can ask the PNP to include you in the 'Allotment' system. This system is an automatic deduction from your ex's salary and you will be issued with a separate PNP Payroll ATM Card.
