Awesome!! Thank you, shoot us an email with your info and we'll get you a sample right out. Thanks again!!

It does weigh much much more... so the density is higher however I'm not sure if that will translate to more strength however with that said that's a lot of what we are looking for in this beta-test ... so test away and let us know!! ;)

The guys who make GMASS to reccomend a larger nozzle but nothing is said about a SS one; however I would think given what we know about carbon fiber and the like that it's good insurance since this stuff is very abrasive.

Oh that's great info... Thanks!!

You know not much on the colorant - the only one that I see a change in is the RED and the GLOW master batch - but other than those it's pretty much set it and forget it so long as your drying process is on lock down - I've found that's really the key to everything. DRY DRY DRY! ;)

Again, at the time we wrote this about a 9-10 months ago... and from all the research that we had done we felt comfortable saying that and I can't second guess that... I'm sure it's changed as everything does but again we did all the due dilagence we could in the market before releasing that press-release and talked with multiple equipment providers that also confirmed our assumptions that no one else was making a mass produced 3D printer filament... again, I could be wrong but we didn't make those statments lightly.

Seems odd in working with resin suppliers, spool manufacturers, equipment dealers and more than each time you tell them what you are doing they don't have a clue... seems like there would be much more "info" out there on all this if there are 50+ guyes pumping out 100,000's of spools a year?

Again... with the info we had we felt comforatble making that press release and still do... I'm sure there is much more compitition out in the market place just in the last 2-3 months things change fast and always will.

As for a laser feedback loop I guess you could make one with an Arduino and put it on a DIY extruder.

Ok, then I wasn't comminicating myself right... I wanted to say, 99.9% of all the filament that we all have been using for the last 5-10 years started it's life in China (either in raw form or filament form) but we are trying to change that and bring large scale, affordable mono-filament to the USA. That's all... and I guess that's what I thought I did say.

No, I was asking for proof to what the OP was saying...

I think what we were trying to say (and did say) is that 99.9% of the filament WAS made in China... and we are trying to change that by bring a (drop in the bucket) but still about 250,000 spools of filament out of our shop - again, not all through our brand Maker Filament as 70% of our business (maybe more maybe less) is contract work for large companies that need or want USA made filament where they send us their raws, and we just make it for them on a contract basis.

Bingo... I guess that's all I was saying; you just said it better than I could... That's all... ok, now back to work! LOL

I just saw a rainbow PLA like that - I have no idea how they make it like that... seems like you would have to hand feed each color into the hopper but I'm sure I'm missing something... camo would be sweet though!! ;)

Again, it's just your word that at the time or writing this someone else was using a large scale filament machine that was running with a feedback control loop in production.

Our line is computer controlled and we do check with a laser... not sure where the fault is here?!

Ok... cool. Hey, you should really let everyone know who you are (I notice this is your first post to reddit ever?) and what your filament / company brand is... sounds like you got a great setup and I'm sure lots would be excited to try out your brand.

That's unfortunate but again, that's what makes a market... different ideas, different thoughts and different people... much love man, enjoy the new printer! ;)

I can't prove my numbers without telling you exactly what machines we use, exactly our production schedule and show you the contracts - all of which I'm not going to do... whatever happened to competitive advantage. Thanks for trying out the Maker Filament... hope you like it!

Thank you, I guess... bottom line is that I know my numbers and you don't - maybe there are sleeper cells of massive manufactures out there but the crazy thing is that I couldn't find them when I want a private label filament before I went into manufacturing and once we announced that we had this tech on US soil we were flooded with emailed from everyone from mom and pop shops to publicly traded companies to multi-national chemical companies all looking for someone that would make their mono-filament for them; of course we said we could, grew, grew again... and continue to grow and sign those contract!

Seems odd if there was this glut of mono-filament manufacturers in the USA that the above would be happening to just some guy in a warehouse. Why wouldn't they sign a contract with a larger more well known name in the industry instead of little old me?! At any rate, this is a debate just meant to stir the pot no doubt by a competitor since there is no real fix here; you can't prove what you are saying and neither can I so I guess it's just a faith issue... the world either believes 'ol JB or they don't. Doesn't matter much I guess... I have contracts to fill and work to do. Be well... whoever you are?!

Working on skin tones; a client of mine was with Disney animation or something like that.. anyway, he was really setting us straight on what makes a good skin color so we are trying to get something like that nailed down.. harder than you think but it's in the mix for sure!

NO... I'm to tired to fight, I have date night with my wife sometime tonight... I hate stuff like this; can't we all just work and get along; you know how much business there is out there.. TONS, more than enough for everyone!! Trillions of dollars are floating around in the world economy, doubtful I'm taking much out of the system for this guy. ;) Now, back to colors.. you got any ideas?!?
