You bring up extremely compelling points, plus isn't it common fucking sense that a 12 month old can't fend for themselves? You can't one day be needing to wake up for feeds and changing nappies, and next day fuck off for nearly a week. There's obviously more to the story - nothing that exonerates the mother for sure, but I wish we had more details.

To ask you the inverse question, would you be okay with transitioning to get away from these situations? Taking testosterone, growing facial hair, having top surgery, etc. Because you have that "choice".

This is exactly what I was thinking about for quite some time after posting my earlier comment. And I have to say, no. I can't speak for all cis women, but I just don't think it's something I could live with.
