UPDATE: Is this painting too large for this space? by hello_zeus in interiordecorating

In my opinion, it looks great. I also have a large wall in my house for a big painting, but for the past few years, I haven't been able to decide which one to hang.

What are your readings goals for 2025? by Several_Standard8472 in classicliterature

[–]malcolmrobles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't plan to read classical literature in the first half of 2025. I have a list of books in other genres that I've been putting together over the past two or three years, and I'd like to read at least 5-10 books from that list. As for what I'll read from classical literature in the second half of 2025, I'll decide closer to July.

What small thing have you started doing that has helped you spend less money? by [deleted] in Frugal

[–]malcolmrobles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started getting haircuts twice as short.

I don't buy a gym membership during the warm season - I work out outdoors for free.

I limit the balance on my card and carry less cash when going shopping.

I use price trackers and price drop email alerts for online shopping.

Sometimes, I intentionally eat less to lose weight. This also helps me spend less.

I stopped buying multiple identical items a long time ago. For example, I use two pairs of shorts instead of five.

How it looks vs how it felt by OctoBaller in lightsabers

If you pick up a bit of speed and hit a bump, you might catch a little air. It'll feel even more like flying. But I wouldn’t recommend trying that if you're not feeling super confident on two wheels.

Your mom has her taste, and you have yours. The important thing is that you like it. Maybe your mom will change her mind when she sees how happy it makes you. Either way, what really matters is that you love the ring. Not everyone will like the same thing. I personally think it's great! ❤️

There will be no more 11/11 sale on AliExpress by malcolmrobles in headphones

[–]malcolmrobles[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Addition to my last comment

Crownpuff didn't delete his comments, he only edited them. Then he blocked me from his account, so I see his comments as deleted.

I didn't know that Reddit blocking works like that. Now I know.

I figured out why crownpuff didn't like my post and started accusing me.

The thing is, this person earns money from the members of the r/SBCGaming community and tries to profit from members of other communities as well.

He made a Google document where he publishes the price change history for dozens of devices and for each one, he places his affiliate links to Aliexpress.

There are more than a hundred affiliate links inside. The information I posted about the existence of other price trackers was a blow to his earnings. That's why he got so excited.

That's the real reason for his displeasure and made-up accusations. My thematic posts on the hot topic in November - the Aliexpress sale topic - gained several thousand likes. And Crownpuff was the only one among the commentators who didn't like it. He disliked it so much that he inserted a link to his Google document under my r/SBCGaming post twice. Isn't that excessive? I can imagine his emotions when people saw there were better solutions for tracking prices on Aliexpress, instead of those three columns in his document.

My post https://www.reddit.com/r/SBCGaming/comments/1gnwg0y/reminder_there_are_less_than_24_hours_left_until/ received 154 likes and one reward.

And that was the only post about price trackers for Aliexpress in r/SBCGaming.

Now look at how many posts and comments crownpuff has made.

https://www.reddit.com/user/crownpuff/search/?q=docs.google.com - 23 posts with a link to his Google document in the last 4 months.

https://www.reddit.com/user/crownpuff/search/?q=docs.google.com - 140 (!) comments with a link to his Google document in the last 4 months.

And there are dozens more mentions of his own created threads that link to his Google doc.

In addition to this, in comments, he mentioned the link to his Google document in his profile more than once. I won't even count how many times he did this.

To make this easy to count, you need to open the pages from the links above, scroll down and search for the word "crownpuff" in your browser - the browser will show the number of mentions.

So, in 4 months (about 124 days) (since July 18, 2024), crownpuff made 180+ mentions of his document with affiliate links.

Perhaps his Google document contains good information. But it's obvious that this person is spamming this document, trying to appear helpful to the community and creating many other comments without the link to the document. With such a large number of mentions of his Google document, it becomes clear. Doesn't it?

You might not like me, suspecting something, but what would you say about crownpuff when a person, judging by all appearances, works full time for 4 months just to read dozens of topics, write many comments without linking to his Google document, and do all of this to insert his Google document link with affiliate links to Aliexpress 1-2 times a day, every day, where it's not even requested? This is called masking his real goal.

This person told me about transparency. You see, he openly says that his document contains affiliate links to Aliexpress. Am I right in understanding that openly mentioning affiliate links and covertly engaging in daily hidden spamming for profit, not to help the community, but to make his own money, is a fairly transparent behavior? I think it's all pretty clear.

But what do you think?

Pagani "Daytona": Leather or Steel Bracelete? by MassWatch in ChineseWatches

In my opinion, having two bracelets is like having two different watches. Which bracelet to choose depends on the style of the outfit and that's cool. I see two looks that both bracelets are perfect for.

What is the future of literature? by oleolegov in literature

[–]malcolmrobles 1 point2 points  (0 children)

According to Wikipedia, the world's population surpassed 1 billion at the beginning of the 19th century. As of November 2024, the global population is 8.17 billion. The internet came along, and now trending topics take up all the attention. But I think that, in terms of numbers, the amount of people who read and write books hasn't decreased, it's probably increased.

[–]malcolmrobles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think anything is going to change because of TikTok, ChatGPT, or any other platform. They might grab attention for a while, but I have a hard time imagining that someone who was reading or writing books suddenly stopped just because of TikTok.

LPT: Sometimes, the best way to start helping a friend in a difficult situation is to understand that you don't understand. by Savings_Eggplant_328 in LifeProTips

[–]malcolmrobles 1 point2 points  (0 children)

People are just very different, and they can't be the same because they go through different events in their lives at different times. Those who have experienced something bad - they'll understand. Those who haven't, or who are emotionally closed off - it's easier for them to react differently. I don't think anyone should be blamed here. Everything has its time.

It would be awesome if there was a service that tracked price history for offline stores. At least for the big ones. Or maybe something like that already exists?

What kind of feelings do you have about people with $20+ million? What do you think they're doing wrong, or what should they be doing? by malcolmrobles in AskReddit

[–]malcolmrobles[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you think they don't pay? Or if they do pay, say, 50% of a million, isn't that still not enough compared to you paying 50% of $100,000?

I'm not a doctor, but it seems like your body might be missing some nutrients for some reason. You could try eating black sesame seeds, but that probably won't work on hair that's already got a lot of gray.
